January Dump! ;)

A motivating post from to start the month and it brought a lot of learnings to life. First month of the year was all about letting go , learning, self growth. It was truly a grind- 5am workouts , balancing life and work, prioritizing health and embracing continuous learning.
Every challenge became an opportunity to grow , pushing boundaries and refining discipline.

Major learning of the month - investing in yourself is the best decision , reinforcing the belief that growth comes from consistenct and effort.

World TCS 10k , a race that no runner would miss!!

One of our client Mrs Priya , coming from a household of fitness enthusiasts participated in this event with determination to achieve her personal best timing this time.
And she did. From previous timing of 1hr 15 mins to 1 hr 6 mins this time , with a rigorous and structured training for about 4 months.
Kudos to her discipline and passion towards her goal.

This is what she has to say about her training experience with Scube " Would like to thank Scube sports - Dr. Smrithi , sports scientist & physiotherapist , for my personal best timing of 1:06 in the recent TCS world10K , Bangalore.
Though I had participated in a few 10K runs as a raw runner earlier I just realised how important it is to have a structured training. Dr. Smrithi gave me a well structured training plan considering my age and running experience that really helped me to enjoy my run, manage the fatigue/pain and finally achieve my personal best!!!
I would recommend Scube Sports mainly for their customized training plan where they first analyse, understand and then plan the fitness routine. This makes Scube Sports and Health different from other healthcare providers or physiotherapy clinics "

"Periods / Menstrual cycle is not an illness or disease , so is menstrual cramps"

The above mentioned symptoms are not signs of illness and is completely normal. Again , it depends on individual how they perceive it.

How and why does body ache and cramps?
As we saw previously how unfertilized egg is released, the muscles in the uterus contract in order to push out the thick lining . This causes abdominal pain and cramps, backache, etc.

We also know how hormones play a role in controlling Menstrual cycle. Changes in these chemicals cause unpleasant symptoms such as breast tenderness, emotional fatigue, bloating and also affects one's level of sexual desire/libido.

These symptoms can be managed by making few changes in lifestyle. Sugar and excess salt cravings should be avoided. These can be swapped with healthier alternatives.
Hot/warm water can be placed on the abdomen to feel relaxed.
Exercise helps relieve cramps by improving the blood flow and relaxation of uterine muscles and hence reducing inflammation.

Menstrual cycle- it's a cycle that starts when one gets first period to the first day of the next.
Total Days of Menstrual cycle different from person to person.

Now, how does this cycle function?
Once a month , an egg is released by the o***y and reaches down the fallopian tube.
If the egg is not fertilized , the thick lining of the uterus and unfertilized egg are shed out of the body as Menstrual blood.
The cycle again begins as another egg starts to mature in the o***y and uterus grows its lining again.
This is controlled by hormones , that change their concentration in the blood at different phases of the cycle.

Basically, Menstrual cycle is a way of telling the women is not pregnant :)

First things First, puberty is a term given when an adolescent reaches sexual maturity and is capable of reproduction.
Boys attain puberty at the age of 9 to 14 years whereas girls at the age of 9 to 13 years.
As a result of this, both boys and girls undergo various physiological and hormonal changes.
Men experience change in voice , grow body hair etc where as girls first start menstruating (which we will be talking about soon), growing hair in the private parts, and a lot of hormonal changes.
