The patient was sent for a hydrodilatation procedure for la potential frozen shoulder, already had a cortisone injection to the shoulder bursa else where after an ultrasound. The patient consistently reported arm pain. She actually had myeloma of the humerus... always consider an X-ray as an initial investigation in the right patient and not just do an USS and CSI as every shoulder pain is not always a bursitis or frozen shoulder....

Sometimes when someone struggles with a single leg squat it’s not due to lack of control or strength, it’s due to lack of range. If their ankle is restricted in dorsiflexion people will adapt in many ways, they may increase hip adduction and ankle pronation or even flex more at the trunk as they try to get deeper into the movement.
A quick and easy test to try is to place a small block or weight about 2 to 3cm in height under their heel then retest the movement. This places them in a more plantarflexed position, essentially giving them move dorsiflexion range to use. If single leg squat control improves then it’s worth assessing and addressing ankle range in more detail.
