A good intake of water is an absolute must to maintain a healthy body.

It is extremely important that we keep ourselves hydrated at all times as water helps in regulating the body temperature, transporting of nutrients and in expelling waste from our bodies.

There are times when we get too busy to drink water and experience headaches, dry mouth and poor hydration. These are clear indicators that your body is dehydrated.


Tips to stay Hydrated
- Carry a bottle of water with you during the day
- Drink water before, during and after a workout

- If you feel hungry try drinking a glass of water, sometimes our bodies confuse thirst for hunger.

- Maintain schedule to help you keep track and remember to drink water.

Here are 5 reasons why you are loosing your hair :

1. Hormonal imbalance: Hair loss due to imbalance in hormone during conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, post-partum or menopause is common as there may be imbalance in progesterone, estrogen or dihydrotestosterone hormone.

We humans are very complex being and we require care centered around our behaviour and environment instead of just the number on our scale.

Cherries are also high in potassium, manganese, magnesium, B complex, Vitamin C and copper.

Few simple ways you can add cherries to your diet:

1. Have your cherries with greek yogurt/nut yogurt- whip your yogurt, add your pitted cherries and enjoy!

2. Add your cherries to your protein shakes.

3. Have a cherry salsa - cherries, onion, tomatoes, fresh herbs and little lemon juice and serve it with crackers.

4. Addย  cherries to your toast with some almond butter.

5. Just have fresh cherries as a snack.

Summers are here and so is our body asking for something cold and juicy, to maintain our thirst and dehydration. Purple grapes are sweet, tany and refreshing at the same time. They are rich in antioxidants and they are shown to be anti-inflammatory too.

Purple grapes popsicles are a perfect add on to the diet for your kids especially in place of all those candies and ice-creams. Even as an adult, you can have one of these refreshing popsicles to curb your dessert cravings. As everyone knows, food on the stick is always more fun!!!!

Recipe:

Purple grapes- 2 cups , chopped

Ginger- 1/2 inch

water - 1/2 cup

Stevia drops - according to taste(optional)

Method:

1. Wash and reserve a few chopped grapes on the side.Grind the remaining grapes and ginger with water.Filter it through a metal strainer. Add stevia drops according to your taste.

2. Fill 3/4th of the popsicle mould with this juice and add the remaining sliced grapes in each mold.

3. Cover it with a lid/ handle that comes with the mould after adding popsicle sticks.Freeze it for minimum 10-12hours.

4. Once frozen and hard , show the body of the popsicle mould under running water for a few mins to remove the popsicle easily.Enjoy the popsicle with a smile :)

Green peas have an impressive nutrition profile. They are one of the best sources of plant based protein and they also come along with lots of fiber, which is a major reason why they are so filling.

Eating protein increases the level of 'Leptin' hormone in your body that gives you satiety.Protein + fiber together leads to slow digestion and promotes feeling of fullness.

Dinner routine can get boring and eating healthy can be challenging, but when I am in the mood for some fun dinner options, I make my favorite meal โ€“ TACOโ€™s. I am not a fan of ready-to โ€“ eat- Taco shells from the market, which are majorly made out of maize flour & refined wheat flour (maida) and filled with lots of preservatives.

But instead of using them I have used a homemade Ragi/Nachni tortilla for the same, which gives these Tacos a desi twist.

ย 

Recipe:

Ingredients:

ย ๐‘น๐’‚๐’ˆ๐’Š ๐’•๐’๐’“๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’๐’‚๐’”

1 cup Ragi flour

1/4 tsp. Cumin

1 Green chili (finely chopped)

Salt

Water- as required

ย ๐‘ฉ๐’†๐’‚๐’๐’” ๐’‡๐’Š๐’๐’๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ

2 cups Black beans (tin)/ soaked & boiled Rajma

ยฝ tsp. Chopped garlic

ยฝ tsp. Grated ginger

1 Small onion (finely chopped)

2 small tomatoes (finely chopped)

ยฝ tsp. Red chili powder

1tsp. Cumin seeds

ยฝ tbsp. Olive oil

Salt- as per taste

ย 

ย ๐‘ญ๐’“๐’†๐’”๐’‰ ๐‘บ๐’‚๐’๐’”๐’‚

3 tomatoes (finely chopped)

1 Bell pepper (roasted & finely chopped)

1 Onion (finely chopped)

1-2 Green chilies (finely chopped)

ยผย cup Coriander leaves

2 tbsp.ย  Lemon juice

ยฝ tsp. Cumin powder

2 tbsp. Jalapeno (chopped)

1tbsp. hot chili sauce

ย 

ย ๐‘จ๐’—๐’๐’„๐’‚๐’…๐’ ๐’…๐’Š๐’‘:

1 big mashed avocado

1tbsp. Lemon juice

A pinch of salt

๐‘บ๐’‚๐’๐’‚๐’… ๐’•๐’๐’‘๐’‘๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ

1-cup cabbage (finely chopped)

1-cup capsicum (finely chopped)

1- cup onion (finely chopped)

ย 

Method:

1.ย ย ย ย ย Add ragi flour, cumin pd, green chili and salt in a kneading bowl. Knead and mix the flour.

2.ย ย ย ย ย Pour water as needed to make small dough. Make around 5-6 dough balls of equal size. Place dough on parchment paper. Dip your fingers in water and gently make thin tortillas.

3.ย ย ย ย ย Transfer the tortillas along with parchment paper to your hand and place it on a hot tawa. Slowly put out the paper.

4.ย ย ย ย ย Cook for 1 min. on medium flame & hen cover it. Continue to cook on medium heat until it changes to darker color.

5.ย ย ย ย ย Make the beans filling- heat a pan and add olive oil.ย  Add cumin seeds, garlic, and onion and ginger almost immediately.

Mango & Walnuts are a powerhouse combination!!

"Mango" king of fruit is everyones favourite. Mangoes are not only sweet and pulpy flavoured but it is also filled with lots of nutritional benefits.

Mangoes contain over 20 different vitamins & minerals: some of them including - Vitamin A, C,B6 and folate. They are loaded with antioxidants. They are rich in fiber and have only 1gm of fat!!!

But beware 90% of mango's calories come from fruit sugar i.e. Fructose.Thus adding on the side of mango may be a good idea.

Walnuts are high in Omega-3 fatty acid, protein and magnesium. The fat in walnuts doesn't let your insulin spike quickly, suppresses your hunger and keeps you energized.

So enjoy your mango but make sure you eat a few walnuts with it :)

Turmeric is one of the most commonly used spices and superfoods in our Indian Kitchen.

๐—–๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ป is a yellow pigment found primarily in turmeric. It's a polyphenol with anti-inflammation properties and ability to increase the amount of antioxidants that the body produces.

Curcumin is absorbed poorly during digestion. Hence, curcumin is extracted from turmeric to produce supplements that have a much higher potency and bioavailability than turmeric .

To eat a crazy level of tumeric to have a decent bioavailability of curcumin is not possible.
