I.I.M.U.N. Youth Light Up Senior Citizens Home
On Thursday, 12 February 2025, the young and vibrant team of India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N.) visited Senior Citizens Home, Ganderbal, run by the She Hope Society.
I.I.M.U.N., the world’s largest youth-run organization working across 40 countries and 272 cities, empowers youth to solve global challenges the Indian way—through dialogue, compassion, and action.
During their two-hour interaction, the team brought smiles and a sense of lightness to our elders’ hearts. They encouraged them to share their daily experiences and the challenges they face, reminding us all of the importance of listening with empathy.
Our Executive Director, Mr Sami Wani, shared an overview of the services provided to senior citizens, emphasising that what they truly need is not material possessions but love, compassion, and the presence of family and society to live with dignity and honour.
The visit ended on a joyful note when one of the youngsters from I.I.M.U.N sang a Kashmiri song, filling the atmosphere with warmth and happiness.
We are grateful to I.I.M.U.N. for their thoughtful engagement and for reminding us that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
