Guided tissue and bone regeneration- Due to periodontal disease(infection of gums causing destruction of bone and supporting structures)there is often destruction of supporting bone so in order to restore the lost bone we use bone graft (artificial bone or own bone) and place in the area of defect and a barrier is to be placed so that the graft remain at its place and no unnecessary tissue grows in that area.
