🙏 I am pleased to share that I have completed a decade of service in Sikkim.
*** In August 2015, I proposed and initiated the introduction of Interventional Cardiology, a modern approach to cardiac operations and treatments, to the Government of Sikkim. Subsequently, we established and have been leading numerous cardiac operations and interventions in Sikkim.
*** Our dedicated teams have successfully performed over 5,000 operations to date in Sikkim.
This achievement would not have been possible without divine blessings, the unwavering support of the Government of Sikkim, the encouragement of my family and well-wishers, and the trust placed in us by the patients and residents of Sikkim and neighboring states.
🙏 Furthermore, the digital and print media have played a vital role in disseminating positive information, gathering feedback, and promoting the expansion of our services. I recall my first newspaper print on SIKKIM EXPRESS in 2015.

We could attain a significant level of achievement in Interventional Cardiology by implementing Conduction System Pacing (CSP): left bundle branch area pacing, within Sikkim.
** This approach aligns with the practices of leading global hospitals, representing the most advanced pacing technique for patients experiencing intermittent or impending cardiac arrest, utilizing the patient's intrinsic cardiac conduction system.

** We did First time in Sikkim: Radiofrequency Ablation Operation of Ventricular Tachycardia (VT), one of the most dangerous cause of sudden death in apparently health individuals.

Best utilization of weekends and holidays: We did 20 operations of electrophysiological studies and radiofrequency ablations with the staff of the Cardiology Department of STNM Hospital.
** I always motivate my supporting staff that it's our opportunity to serve our patients; do your best whenever and wherever possible.
** Great honor to have Dr. Avinash Verma, Senior Electrophysiologist from Delhi, who always gives an expert touch to our patients.

We did well with 96-year-old Hajur Ba. He is giving blessings 🙌.
The family had also lost hope as he collapsed and was gone, but was able to reach us with hopes. We successfully performed an operation for cardiac arrest on the same day of admission at the age of 96.
👍If people keep 100% faith in doctors, we can do miracles with the best of skills.

Wonderful memories with sweet & lovely 90-year-old aunt, a retired Major (Nurse) of the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune & 85-year uncle, a retired Colonel Army officer.
*** She came to us with an acute blockage of the artery in her left arm & hand, progressing to impending gangrene.
*** First time in Sikkim, we performed Mechanical Thrombectomy using the recently installed Penumbra System in the Cardiology Department's operation theater. *** Luckily, the operation was successful, she had excellent results & was discharged in three days. She was so warm, soft-spoken, and gentle.
"We wish her fast recovery & Good Health" 🙏💐

*** Inspired by our Kopa from my neighboring village, Sumbuk, who bravely underwent a heart operation at 92 years age, trusting me completely for the operation.
🌞 Senior citizens' treatment demands compassionate care, multimodal evaluation and thoughtful management with minimal medication. I never deny any treatment due to age.
🙌 With their blessings, I'm empowered to continue making a positive impact.💐

"Influenced by the challenging job of our patient, a caregiver at the Special Children with Disabilities Centre in Shyari, Gangtok",
A 35-year-old, the only son of an ailing father, suffered from chronic untreated heart problems leading to heart and liver failure.
*** With no option left and with the support of his staff friend at the same centre, we decided to do a life-changing heart operation, which was done successfully with excellent results.
*** We could do his operation free of cost, leaving us with an overwhelming sense of fulfillment.🫶👌We Heart Team, STNM.

One of our Lifetime Achievement, "So Challenging Experience"
A very gentle uncle, a retired teacher from Oho, Namchebung near Gangtok, was successfully discharged after 24 days of struggle in the ICU. 👍

** He had come in with end-stage heart failure with an EF of 15% and had nine times cardiac arrest in our Cardiac ICU; our staff nurses revived him with CPR with DC cardioversion.
*** We performed an operation for heart failure with the highest risk, Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy (CRT) which took us four hours, but was done successfully with excellent results. ***
Gratitude with thanks for supportive family members & Cardiac ICU Staff.

💖We did Operations for Congenital Defects (Holes) in Heart, two patients with Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), one patient with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) along with Operation for Heart attack on 53 years gentleman from Gangtok.👍
