Dear ASPWA members,

We are thrilled to conclude our week-long World Physiotherapy Day celebration, which was made even more special by the historic Futsal Tournament for healthcare professionals! A huge thank you to each and every one of you for your contributions, enthusiasm, and teamwork, which made this event a resounding success.

We are grateful for our HCM's suggestion to make this tournament an annual event, and we can't wait to build upon this momentum. We will strive to make next year's event even bigger and better, with more exciting matches, engaging activities, and opportunities for networking and learning.

Thank you for your dedication, passion, and commitment to ASPWA's mission. Your hard work has paid off, and we are proud to have such a talented and driven team.

Withdrawal of Services: Solidarity with Healthcare Professionals

Date: 16/8/2024

The All Sikkim Physiotherapist Welfare Association has decided to withdraw physiotherapy services(private clinics) tomorrow , (17/8/2024),in solidarity with our fellow healthcare professionals. As physiotherapists, we fall under the modern system of medicine, and we stand united with our colleagues in this crucial moment.

We urge the authorities to address the grievances of our fellow healthcare professionals and work towards finding a solution that benefits the entire healthcare community. Our withdrawal of services is a symbol of our unity and support for the larger healthcare family.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our patients and the general public. However, we believe that this collective action is necessary to bring attention to the pressing issues faced by healthcare professionals.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update you on any developments.

Gangtok, Sikkim- The All Sikkim Physiotherapists Welfare Association (ASPWA) is shocked and outraged by the heinous r**e and murder of 2nd year Post graduate Trainee (PGT) MD Respiratory Medicine trainee doctors in Kolkata. We demand immediate action and justice for the victims and their families.

The ASPWA condemns this brutal crime and urges the authorities to take swift and severe action against the perpetrators. The safety and well-being of healthcare professionals are of utmost importance, and it is the responsibility of the authorities to ensure a secure environment for them to work in.

We warn that if justice is not delivered promptly, it will create an unsafe ecosystem for healthcare professionals to work in, ultimately affecting the quality of healthcare services. We will not stand by silently if our colleagues are subjected to such brutality.

We demand:

- Immediate arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators
- A thorough investigation into the incident
- Ensuring the safety and security of healthcare professionals in Kolkata and beyond

We urge all concerned citizens, healthcare professionals, and organizations to join us in demanding justice for the victims and their families. Let us stand together to create a safe and secure environment for all healthcare professionals.
