“ অপাৰেচনৰ পিছত মই চকলেট আৰু মেগী খাব পাৰিম নে - Will I be able to eat maggi and choclates after surgey? This is what this young girl asked me. Now, the smile says it all. She was not able to eat because of a condition called Achalasia cardia. She was treated with a procedure called PerOral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) - a endoscopic surgery without any cut outside the body. She is the 13th case of this advanced endoscopic surgery at our centre. This marks a new era of advance endoscopy in North East India.

Today on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day, I will urge everyone who have not been vaccinated for Hepatitis B, to get yourself tested for Hepatitis B. It’s a simple, cheap blood test (HBsAg). Get yourself vaccinated by visiting your nearest health centre. Vaccination consist of three doses of the vaccine. Let’s eliminate hepatitis B. For any doubt you can message me.

Sunday emergency. 64 years old gentleman with accidental ingestion of denture. The denture got impacted in the upper esophagus (food pipe), with the sharp end piercing the wall. Was able to remove it successfully with endoscopy. Happy patient, happy patients family. Saved a major surgery.
Be careful about your dentures.
