25 YEARS OF TRUST & CARE – Celebrating Healing Journeys Since 2000
With gratitude and humility, this post officially unveils the 25 year logo of DrValavans’ Homeopathy and marks the beginning of our silver jubilee year. It carries the story of a journey that began in November 2000 and continues today with the same commitment to gentle, scientific healing; as we stand at the end of November 2025, I complete 25 years of this journey.
It started with my BHMS degree in November 2000 and my very first case taking, Mrs Kasthuri, at Dr Razaak’s Homeo Clinic on 10 June 2000, when I was still learning to listen deeply to patients (I will share my experiences and learnings from Dr Razaak sir in a separate post). Soon after, on 13 July 2001, I opened my first small clinic, where my father & mother lovingly became the first to pay a consultation fee of Rs. 50 — a blessing more than a transaction.
On 18 July 2001, my first patient, Mr Selvakumar, walked into that clinic and, with his Rs. 30 fee, gave me my first earning as a doctor, turning a dream into a living responsibility. Around the same time, a heartfelt congratulatory letter from my brother (Mathi Anna) & family reminded me that this journey was being carried on the shoulders of family faith and support.
Over the years, I continued to learn so that I could serve better: see the glimpses of BHMS convocation in 2003, MD (Hom) in 2008, MBA in 2010 to understand healthcare management, and finally PhD in 2023 — each robe and degree deepening my duty towards ethical, evidence informed homeopathic practice. These milestones are not just certificates but reminders that every patient deserves the best of both heart and knowledge.
A beautiful chapter of this journey unfolded in North India. Far away from my hometown, a circle of people treated me as family and opened doors so that I could continue my clinical work there: Mr Bani Singh of Lakshay Homeo Pharmacy, who first invited me to practice in his place; Dr Rahul Tewari, one of my closest friends, who shared his Indirapuram clinic with me on the days he was not consulting; Dr DD Vichitra, like an elder brother, who later took over that clinic, co-ran it with me and finally entrusted it fully to my care; and Mr Sanjay Kumar of Balaji Homeo Pharmacy, who generously offered his space for consultations. Alongside this, I was privileged to work on research & development, scientific & regulatory affairs with Schwabe India, and I remain thankful to the management for rearranging my timings so that I could balance both innovation and practice. Above all, my guru and mentor, Dr PN Varma, guided me with affection and wisdom until his last breath in November 2018 — the same month in which my journey as a doctor began — and his words still echo in every prescription.
Among the many blessings from patients, one birthday gift stands out — a golden Hanuman pendant lifting Dronagiri, offered by Mrs Sarvani Mukherjee, a motherly patient who recovered from an illness once labelled “incurable”. It reminds me that doctors are only messengers who carry the medicine; the true cure belongs to a higher hand, as taught by our master Dr Samuel Hahnemann.
As we unveil this 25 year logo, I, Dr R. Valavan, and my wife, Dr PT Ponmani Valavan, along with our team of doctors — Dr Kavita Singh (Junior Consultant) and Dr Aishwarya (Intern doctor) — and our ever smiling receptionist cm pharmacist, Mr Abhay Kumar, bow in gratitude to every patient, teacher, colleague, and family member who has walked with us. As part of this celebration, we plan to share “25 Stories in 25 Weeks” — anonymized (if desired) patient journeys (with consent) that highlight the problem, the homeopathic approach, the outcome, and one simple learning for the public — and through this post I warmly invite my patients to share their experiences and blessings for this series.
In the coming days, we will also share special 25 year events and initiatives — inviting you to continue this healing journey with us.
With kindest regards,
Dr R. Valavan along with Dr PT Ponmani Valavan
