It is an honour to be invited by IAP and IMA East Delhi to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week on 8th August, 2025.
The topic " Failure to Lactation: Management" is vast but tried to touch every aspect of it. This covered even lots of myths faced by not only families but also HCPs.
Addressing the renowned OB-GYN and Paediatricians is itself an insightful experience. Thank you all for joining and participating enthusiastically in the Q& A session.

It was an honour to be invited as speaker in Lok Nayak Hospital, Delhi for celebrating World Breastfeeding Week 2025 and sharing the stage with Dr. SUSHMA NANGIA ( Director Professor and HOD NEONATOLOGY, Lady Harding Medical College and Kalawati Saran Children 's Hospital, Delhi) & Dr. RUCHI RAI ( HOD NEONATOLOGY, Post Graduate Institute of Child Health, Noida).

I am extremely thankful to Dr. Ashish Jain ( HOD NEONATOLOGY, Lok Nayak Hospital, Delhi ) and Dr. Nidhi Jain for the invitation.

I was delighted to watch enthusiastic Paediatrician in making ( Paediatric Residents) who participated whole heartedly and hope that I not only cleared their myths regarding Breastfeeding but also gave some practical tips to resolve their day today problems faced in the wards.

And last but not least , I also thank Dr. Shacchee Khare Baweja for the reference.

When my friend asked me how you celebrated your Janamashtami festival -

By helping a newborn radha and her parents in understanding early hunger cues, positioning, latching, good latch signs.

By helping 22 days old kanha to deep latch her mother for optimal milk transfer and giving mother freedom from pain and stress. Also gave her confidence to enjoy her motherhood.

By making Dhaniya panjiri as a prasad for Lord Krishna , also balancing Pitta dosha which vitiates in this season.

By taking kids to the temple to feel the positive energy spread by all bhakts, listening hymns and watching the festivity with decoration of the whole arena .

This is my way of celebrating Janmashtmi.

I was so delighted to see that one more family was happy , completing their goals and mom was out of guilt, sadness and was enjoying her motherhood.

World Breastfeeding Week, celebrated on the 1st week of August ( 1- 7 Aug) every year.
But one week is not enough to bring awareness, promotion and support but it requires a whole year by every supporting person like health care providers, family friends, employees etc.

Let us all make a supportive environment for all feeding mothers.

Bringing the change is not easy neither at home, family, society or country. But working towards it continuously, maybe slowly will definitely bring some change. And when it starts it gives Domino's effect.
Also there is one famous saying " What our mind knows that our eyes see". So to bring the change educating the brain is very important.
The same has been done by AIIMS Delhi by organising symposium on "Tethered Oral Tissues" or in layman's language Tongue tie and Lip tie. The session was very eye opener, intellectual and informative.
The speakers Prakash Mathur ( India) , Dr.Eyal Botzer and Agarwal are expertise in their fields and facts shared were very astonishing.
This will definitely bring acceptance for TOT among Health Care Providers and how it impacts breastfeeding. I am hopeful in the future we will all work as a team to provide the best care and support to the Breastfeeding mother and Baby dyad.

Like always Awesome Mothers' Day celebrated. Started with my awesome gals with lots of love and gifts, then continuing with bringing awareness for the lactation. Watched beautiful performance of my elder one and then judged the event of Mother- Baby ramp walk with my co judges @ Sangeeta Tiwari ji (BJP Personnel) and Amita ji ( Principal Play school)

Lactation - Breast feeding

Breast milk contains everything your baby needs for the first six months of life. The first milk is thick, rich in protein and loaded with beneficial compounds.Breastfeeding may reduce your baby's risk of infections and many diseases. Breastfeeding plays a crucial role in the health, growth and development of babies, nurture the babies and has benefits for the mother too. Lactation /breast feeding counselor provide support to new mother in their journey by helping them by encouraging , counselling , teaching them proper positioning , and educating them regarding benefits of breastfeeding , dangers of top feeding , and treating breast related conditions of mothers and continue supporting mothers from breastfeeding to weaning .
