Santosh Central Library organised National Librarian’s Day and a Workshop on Innovative E-Content Development for MOOCs and OER Platforms on 12th August 2025 at LT4, Santosh Deemed to be University, Ghaziabad.

The programme commenced with a Welcome Address by Mr. P. Ramu, Chief Librarian, and was chaired by Dr. Akshay Bhargava, Dean Dental & Library Committee Chairperson, along with Dr. Shalabh Gupta, Dean Academics.

Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, Deputy Librarian, delivered a lecture on Innovative E-Content Development, MOOCs, and Open Educational Resources (OERs). He also discussed the Gross Enrolment Ratio in Higher Education, proposals for e-content development, preprint archives, Crossref, and free OER platforms such as PDF Drive, FreeTech Books, Clarivate journals, and MIT OpenCourseWare.

He further highlighted the adoption of the ADDIE Model—Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation—as an effective framework for e-content creation.

On this occasion, Mr. P. Ramu, Chief Librarian, felicitated Dr. V. N. Mahalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Akshay Bhargava, Dean Dental, and Dr. Shalabh Gupta, Dean Academics with Guest of Honour mementos.

As part of the National Librarian’s Day celebrations, Dr. V. N. Mahalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, along with Dr. Akshay Bhargava, Dean Dental, Dr. Shalabh Gupta, Dean Academics, and Dr. Alka Agrawal, Dean SMC, felicitated 17 Best Library User Award winners with mementos, certificates, and books.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sakthivel, Deputy Librarian.

This fully sponsored academic journey will take them across leading academic healthcare centres in Glasgow and Manchester, and culminate in their participation and presentation at the prestigious International AUE Conference on Issues in Global Healthcare, hosted at the University of Bolton, Manchester.

They will engage in Collaborative Exchanges on critical domains including Patient Safety, Bioethics, Healthcare Systems, and Medical Teaching.
