Interferenatial Therapy

Interferenatial Therapy These frequencies interface with the transmission of pain messages at the spinal cord level.

We Life Care Systems are the manufactures and exporter of Interferential Therapy and we created this page to provide all latest updates for physiotherapy equipments. Interferential Therapy is an analogue interferential stimulation device which is used for symptomatic relief and management of post surgical and post traumatic acute and chronic pain. This type of stimulation is characterized by the crossing of two electrical medium, independent frequencies that work together to effectively stimulate large impulse fibers. Because of the frequency, the interferential wave meets low impedance when crossing the skin to enter the underlying tissue. This deep tissue penetration can be adjusted to stimulate parasympathetic nerve fibers for increased blood flow. Interferential Stimulation differs from TENS because it allows a deeper penetration of the tissue with more comfort (Compliance) and increased circulation. Common Uses
Pre and Port Orthopedic Surgery, Joint Injury Syndrome, Cumulative Trauma Disorders, Increasing Circulation & Pain Control of Various Origins. Application
Treatment of circulatory disorders, range of motion, edema and muscle spasms. Post-op patients will use the device 3 times a day for 15 minutes over a period of 14-30 days.

To produce low frequency effects at sufficient intensity at depth, patients can experience considerable discomfort in the superficial tissues (i.e. the skin). This is due to the impedance of the skin being inversely proportional to the frequency of the stimulation. In other words, the lower the stimulation frequency, the greater the impedance to the passage of the current & so, more discomfort is experienced as the current is ‘pushed’ into the tissues against this barrier. The skin impedance at 50Hz is approximately 3200* whilst at 4000Hz it is reduced to approximately 40*. The result of interferential machines applying a higher frequency is that it will pass more easily through the skin, requiring less electrical energy input to reach the deeper tissues & giving rise to less discomfort.

LCS Combination Therapy (IFT+TENS+MS+US) :Interferential therapy has its uses in pain relief and muscular contraction. It is used as a technique to achieve either of these when other methods are not appropriate or unavailable, and are often conducted in conjunction with other treatments.

inferential Current/Electro-Muscle Stimulation (IFC/EMS) is a therapeutic treatment to aid in pain relief and promote soft tissue healing.

Tiny amounts of electrical impulses are induced into the tissue adjacent to the injury. Where these waves intersect below the surface of the skin, low frequency stimulation is created, prompting the body to secrete endorphins (pain relieving hormones).

Most patients find the treatment extremely beneficial and describe it as a "tingling" sensation. It is most often used for pain relief and to aid in reducing soft tissue swelling. Sprains, strains and spasms often respond to this treatment, which also reduces atrophy and increases blood circulation. Ice or heat is often accompanied with this treatment
