Seldom do we give attention to our mind and soul, which the time and resources we spend in trying to fulfill our physical needs and desire, we are still unable to achieve lasting peace and happiness through satisfaction of bodily needs. This is because we have not learned how to listen to our mind and soul. So, “Secrets of Good Health” takes the responsibility for everyone’s health and well-being on a daily basis. Certain factors influence our state of wellness, including nutrition, physical activity, stress-coping methods, good relationships, and career success. To achieve balance, we need to care for our mind, body, and spirit.If any of these three areas is consistently lacking or forgotten about, we will not be at our optimal level of health. As Nutrition and fitness professional, we have a responsibility to guide and motivate others to improve their level of health and wellness. We can promote a holistic approach to health (mind, body, and spirit), not just encourage physical activity. Our focus is strictly on the physical benefits of exercise, we are doing a disservice to our clients and we are not fulfilling our professional obligations. The fact that the papaya fruit has a sweet, delicate meat, and contains many essential nutrients for our body is already known by many people. But did you know there are many unique facts about the fruit called "Fruit of the Angels" is?
Yup, the fruit of this one turned out to save a lot of unique secrets you may not know. Well, want to know what are the facts about the unique and interesting pieces of papaya? Let's look at some of the following explanations:
Young papaya fruit contains enzyme called papain. Papain has been used as a natural meat tenderizer for thousands of years.

Type O's are the most likely to suffer from asthma, hay fever and other allergies, also are the predominant sufferers of arthritis because their immune systems are "environmentally intolerant," especially to foods that can produce inflammatory reactions in their joints.

Type B's have a high allergy threshold and will react allergically only if they eat the wrong foods. Type B's are especially susceptible to autoimmune disorders, such as chronic fatigue, lupus, and multiple sclerosis.

Type AB's tend to have the fewest problems with allergies, while heart disease, cancer, and anemia are risks.

Types A and B are the most susceptible to diabetes, have a higher rate of cancer, and poorer survival odds than other types.

Pears are native to Asia and Europe. The first pear tree was planted in the North America in 1620 in the Massachusetts Bay colony.

The European pear originated in Southeast Asia and was first cultivated in Europe about 1000 B.C.

Asian pears were cultivated in China as early as 1134 B.C.

The Chinese considered the pear, which they call "li," to be a symbol of immortality. The destruction of a pear tree symbolized tragic or untimely death.

In Chinese, fen li means both "to share a pear" and "to separate." Therefore, it is considered bad luck in China to share a pear because it may lead to separation of friends or lovers.

Just switch to brown rice instead of white. Apart from being more nutritious, it also has fat-burning properties.

It is just normal rice but with all the nutrients still intact. The reason brown rice has many more nutrients than regular white rice is due to the fact that brown rice has only the outer layer, called the hull(husk), removed while white rice has been refined for convenience removing several nutritious layers—therefore losing all nutrients.

Try this recipe

Brown Rice lentil kebab

Ingredients
1 cup boiled brown rice, cooled completely
1 cup boiled red lentils fully drained
3 green chilies
2 tsp ginger chopped
2-3 flakes garlic, peeled
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp fresh mint leaves finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
2 tbsp. Roasted channa powder
1 tsp roasted cumin powder
½ cup breadcrumbs
2 tsp olive oil
Salt & black pepper powder to taste

Method
Soak brown rice overnight and boil them . Grind ginger, garlic, and chilies, to a coarse paste in a mixer. Heat oil, add paste, stir for a few seconds Add lentils, rice, salt, and cumin and pepper powder, mix well. Take off fire; add lemon juice, mint and coriander leaves and mix it well. Cool mixture in a large plate, mash roughly with hand or masher. Sprinkle roasted channa powder over mixture, mix gently. Make flattish round or patties of desired shape. Roll each in breadcrumbs to coat all over. Keep in refrigerator for half an hour, remove and bring to room temperature. Roast on non-stick tawa or pan until golden brown on both sides. Serve with mint sauce as teatime snacks

According to a report of the World Health Organisation, the life expectancy of the people all over the world has been coming down as more and more people are dying from cardio-vascular diseases.
Atleast 70 percent of the population in the world today are falling victims to cardio vascular diseases before their time.

Apart from the hereditary factor, the main cause of obesity among the people today is said to be unhealthy lifestyle. I have chosen the one mudra out of ten mudras because of its great health benefits, though all mudras have multiple holistic benefits affecting the mind body and energetic blueprint.

Surya Mudra - Sun Mudra
Method: Bend the ring finger and press it with thumb.

Specialty: It sharpens and activates the energetic centre relating to the thyroid gland.

Time Duration: Practice it daily twice for 5 to 15 minutes.

When you are sitting down, do you usually cross your legs?

Many of us do this for extended periods of time without even thinking about or realizing that our legs are crossed. It has become second nature, which is troubling.

When you are in the sitting position, your spine is resting squarely on your pelvis. When you cross your leg over your knee, it raises one hip and puts pressure on the other which causes your back to be out of line. If you sit cross legged regularly or for long periods of time, this can result in lower back and hip pain. This position also puts a great deal of pressure on the sciatic nerve, which runs through your lower back, rear, and down both legs. This is the largest nerve in the human body, and intense stress on the sciatic nerve is where a large portion of lower back pain resonates from. Sitting cross legged can also inhibit circulation in your legs which leads to varicose veins and can turn into more serious problems.
It can be difficult to break a habit that is so hard wired into your daily routine, but this is one that is definitely worth breaking.

Instead of crossing your legs at the knees, try crossing them at your ankles; this way you won’t feel as compelled to cross your legs and there are no mal effects. It may not be easy to break, but it could help you avoid back problems and possibly surgery down the road!

You can easily ease the pain of a migraine through using a cabbage leaf. A cabbage leaf compress is prepared through placing crushed cabbage leaves on a cloth and then applying it to the forehead. Leave the cloth there until relief comes, however replace the leaves as they dry out.
