"It is okay to not be okay. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness."

World Maternal Mental Health Day, observed each year on the first Wednesday of May (May 6, 2026), shines a light on perinatal mental health disorders (PMADs)-conditions that impact nearly 1 in 5 mothers. The day emphasizes breaking stigma, promoting early support and treatment, and fostering a compassionate environment for those experiencing anxiety or depression during pregnancy and throughout the first year after childbirth.

June is PTSD Awareness Month, a time to shed light on the complexities of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder-with a focus on 27th June being PTSD Awareness Day.
PTSD affects millions worldwide, often stemming from traumatic events like combat, abuse, or natural disasters.

Symptoms include flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety, and avoidance behaviors. It's crucial to recognize that PTSD is not a sign of weakness but a response to trauma.

By promoting awareness, we can work to break the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage those affected to seek help. Support from loved ones, therapy, and self-care can make a significant difference in recovery.

Common Symptoms :
â—†Anger and irritability
â—†Depression and hopelessness
â—†Feeling alienated and alone
â—†Feelings of mistrust and betrayal
â—†Guilt, shame, or self-blame
â—†Physical aches and pains
â—†Substance abuse
â—†Suicidal thoughts and feelings

Let's use this month to educate ourselves, offer compassion, and advocate for resources that support those living with PTSD. Together, we can foster a more understanding and supportive community.🤝

International Yoga Day is celebrated annually on June 21, marking the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. This day was chosen to commemorate yoga's universal appeal and benefits, following Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposal to the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. The UN adopted the resolution with 177 co-sponsoring nations, and the first International Yoga Day was observed on June 21, 2015.
Yoga has been shown to have a positive impact on brain cognition, including:
- Improving attention and focus
- Enhancing memory and learning
- Boosting cognitive flexibility
- Reducing stress and anxiety
- Promoting neuroplasticity

The practice of yoga combines physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation, which can help to:
- Increase blood flow to the brain
- Reduce inflammation and oxidative stress
- Promote the growth of new neurons
- Enhance the connection between brain cells.
