To***co-Free Zone Initiative | SimlaKandi Cluster

Under the National To***co Control Programme (NTCP), an Awareness-cum-Enforcement Drive was conducted today at the SimlaKandi Cluster, led by the District Nodal Officer (DNO), NTCP, and police officials of South Salmara Mankachar District.

The drive focused on strict implementation of the COTPA Act (Ci******es and Other To***co Products Act), 2003, particularly addressing violations near educational institutions.

During the enforcement, illegal shops found selling to***co products within the restricted 100-yard radius of school premises were penalized, and fines were imposed as per the provisions of the law.

Simultaneously, awareness sessions were held to sensitize the public, especially local shopkeepers and students, about the harmful effects of to***co and the importance of maintaining a safe and to***co-free environment for children.

Food baskets were distributed to TB patients today at the office of the Joint Director of Health Services, South Salmara Mankachar, as part of the ongoing nutritional support initiative.

The distribution was carried out by Dr. Sanjoy Choudhury, Joint Director of Health Services, in the gracious presence of the District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO), DAM, DME, DPC, and the beneficiaries.

Review Meeting cm Orientation on NCD, AAM Portal & eSanjeevani held today at South Salmara Mankachar District.

A Review Meeting cm Orientation for CHOs on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD), AAM Portal, and eSanjeevani was successfully conducted today at the Conference Hall, Joint DHS Office, Hatsingimari.

The session was graced by Dr. Sanjoy Choudhury, Joint Director of Health Services, South Salmara Mankachar, along with the presence of the DNO (NCD), DPM, DME, DCM, DPC, DAM, and the CHOs from across the district. Officials from the DPMU unit (NHM) also actively participated.

The meeting aimed at strengthening the CHOs’ capacity on key digital platforms and ensuring enhanced service delivery under the NCD programme.

An orientation session under the MAA Programme was successfully conducted at Gazarikandi BPHC, with active participation from block-level health officials and frontline workers.

The session emphasized the importance of optimal breastfeeding practices and strengthened focus on maternal and child health.
Key discussions were held on:

✅ Home-Based Newborn Care (HBNC)
✅ Home-Based Young Child Care (HBYC)
✅ NIPI (Norway India Partnership Initiative)
✅ Diarrhoea management & prevention
✅ Early registration and 1st ANC
✅ 4th ANC check-up protocols
✅ Promotion of Institutional Deliveries

The meeting also stressed on enhanced coordination between ASHA Supervisors and ASHAs to ensure timely service delivery and effective outreach at the community level.

Hepatitis-B Vaccination Launch for Frontline Health Workers | South Salmara Mankachar

The District level launch of the Hep-B vaccination drive for frontline healthcare service providers was successfully held today across South Salmara Mankachar district.

The programme was officially launched at the District Hospital, Hatsingimari in the esteemed presence of:

* Joint Director of Health Services
* District Immunization Officer (DIO)
* District Surveillance Officer (DSO)/District TB Officer (DTO)
* Superintendent, District Hospital
* Senior Doctors from DH
* DPM, DME, DPC, DDM (IDSP), under NHM
* VCCM
