Let's look at the festival of Navratri from Maa Durga's point of view this time.
Navratri is not just about rituals, itโs a journey of womanhood and inner power. Each form of Maa Durga reflects a phase in a womanโs life and the strength within her:
๐บ Day 1 โ *Shailputri*
The daughter, daughter of mountain, who considers herself as a princess( shail means mountain and putri means daughter) A Pure soul, full of potential and positivity.
๐บ Day 2 โ *Brahmacharini*
The seeker, a student - She has no lust at this age, she wears simple comfortable clothes and is curious about everything around . She is in her learning phase.
๐บ Day 3 โ *Chandraghanta*
The married woman- Her likings change, her dreams change. Now she gives away her chandra (white or non vibrant clothes) and wears colourful Red dress, embracing love.
๐บ Day 4 โ *Kushmanda*
The nurturer, ready to create and give life. (Kushma means cosmic and anda means eggs) A phase in a women's life when she is ready to bear pain for good and give birth.
๐บ Day 5 โ *Mata*
The mother, full of compassion and sacrifice. Now she has become the one to whom everyone looks up; for support, for love, for solutions.
๐บ Day 6 โ *Katyayini*
The warrior, battling inner fears and outer injustices. Now she is transforming into a powerful soul who has experienced highs and lows of life.
๐บ Day 7 โ *Kali*
The fierce one, who embraces both victories and scars. Injustice is no more acceptable to her. She now fights for her rights, no matter who the enemy is.
๐บ Day 8 โ *Gauri*
A phase after life struggles and with resultant wisdom. The wise one, uplifting and guiding others.
๐บ Day 9 โ *Siddhidatri*
Siddhi means devine power and datri means The giver. The divine teacher, bestowing knowledge and empowering all.
All the 9 phases in women's lives are equally important. To live a fulfilling life, no one can be skipped or ignored.
