Thank you surgical speciality for the opportunity to interact and discuss important topic of , , , & prevention. Importance of pus culture was stressed in the view of ongoing pandemic, and viral suppression in surgical candidates. & among difficult to treat SSI's was stressed too!!

This was my second interaction with surgical speciality in this regards and the knowledge gap is significant.

In past 2 years I have diagnosed and treated multiple infections in my city and few of them includes
Among PLHAV- 15 histoplasma, 20 cryptococcal, few nocardiosis, CMV & NTM.
Immunocompetent host- multiple extra scrub rickettsial, brucellosis, Pulmonary & disseminated candidiasis , Aspergilosis, Mucormycosis, NTM, CMV disease & MDRO

These infections are not routinely diagnosed and often missed.

I diagnose them routinely and treat them appropriately in Gorakhpur itself.
