GSS had always been involved in a number of social sector campaigns (mostly health, HIV/AIDS and poverty alleviation related) and enjoyed excellent community support in organizing such programs through local contribution. During the initial period of GSS the focus was on health sector programs, such as HIV/AIDS, child and mother health etc. With growing understanding of local situation and development dynamics, the organization took up deeper issues as its thrust area. Organization has been involved in various kinds of development activities at the grass root level with main focus on HIV/AIDS, Health, Education, Women empowerment, Disaster management, and Poverty alleviation. These activities are support of various Central/State and foreign funding agencies.
