PCB Assembly Quality Issues: Understanding Defects and Their Causes

🔍 Cold Welding: Dull, gray solder joints with granules due to incorrect reflow oven settings or solder paste issues.
🔍 Solder Bridging: Short circuits from connected solder joints, often due to solder paste printing errors.
🔍 False Soldering: Poor connection between pins and pads, common in SMT soldering.
🔍 Standing Piece: Pins not properly connected due to oxidation, contamination, or design mismatches.
🔍 Tombstone: Component end not connected, causing warping, often due to uneven heating or solder paste issues.
🔍 Side Stand: Component stands vertically due to packaging or equipment issues.
🔍 Flip: Component mounted upside down, usually due to loose packaging or vibration.
🔍 Solder Beads: Round solder balls in non-welding areas caused by improper reflow settings.
