In this video, Dr. Sindhu Kosaraju from Sasya Fertility Centre talks about the major risk factors for gynecological cancers. One of the most important causes of cervical cancer is HPV (Human Papilloma Virus).

HPV is usually spread through sexual contact and is considered highly contagious as it can easily transfer from one person to another. Fortunately, there is an HPV vaccine that plays a key role in preventing this infection. By taking the vaccine, we can significantly reduce the chances of HPV infection and lower the risk of developing cervical cancer.

💡 Early awareness, timely vaccination, and regular health check-ups can go a long way in preventing gynecological cancers.

In this video, Dr. Sindhu Kosaraju from Sasya Fertility Centre discusses the various types of gynecological cancers that can affect women.

Gynecological cancers may arise in different parts of the female reproductive system, including:
• Cervix – Cancer located at the entrance of the uterus
• Endometrium – Cancer affecting the inner lining of the uterus
• Fallopian Tubes – Cancer that develops within the fallopian tubes
• Ovaries – Cancer that begins in the ovarian tissues

These cancers often progress silently and may impact women at different stages of life.

Among these, cervical cancer is the only type that can be effectively prevented with early protection.

• It is recommended for both girls and boys between 9 to 15 years of age to receive protection early
• Within this age group, 2 doses are sufficient
• After 15 years, 3 doses are advised for improved effectiveness
• Early protection significantly lowers the lifetime risk

In this video, Dr. Sindhu Kosaraju from Sasya Fertility Centre explains the important vaccines recommended during pregnancy to protect both the mother and the baby.

🔹 TT (Tetanus Toxoid) Vaccine
• This is part of the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) and is commonly provided at government hospitals and by ASHA workers.
• It helps prevent infections during delivery, especially since surgical tools like stainless steel instruments can carry risk if not sterile.

🔹 DTaP Vaccine (Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis)
• This is usually given after 28 weeks of pregnancy.
• It protects both mother and baby from diphtheria and whooping cough (pertussis), which can be severe in newborns.

🔹 Influenza Vaccine
• If you're pregnant during the flu season or there are rising cases around you, the flu shot is recommended.
• It helps protect you from respiratory infections that could complicate pregnancy.

✅ These vaccines help protect both mother and baby during pregnancy.

In the previous video, we discussed what endometriosis is. Now, Dr. Sindhu Kosaraju from Sasya Fertility Centre explains how it can affect fertility and what steps to take if diagnosed.

📌 How Endometriosis Affects Fertility:
• Endometrial tissue grows outside the uterus—on ovaries, tubes, or behind the uterus.
• It can reduce egg quality when affecting the ovaries.
• Blocked fallopian tubes prevent egg movement, affecting conception.
• If it spreads to the uterus, it may lead to Adenomyosis, causing pain and discomfort during in*******se.
• These changes can interfere with pregnancy and cause infertility.

📌 What You Should Know:
• If diagnosed and you haven't completed family planning, try for pregnancy early.
• Surgery can remove affected tissue, but regrowth is common.
• After childbirth, medications may ease pain and slow recurrence.
• It can’t be fully cured—timely planning and treatment are essential.
