If there is scarcity for psychotherapists, modern medicine has already provided Homeopathy to fill the gap. We call Homoeopathy the modern medicine because; of all the schools of medicine it was the last to come; it came into existence only 220 years ago. True to its birth Homoeopathy has Inherited all the developments in modern science. There are two basic things you should know to understand Homoeopathy. Firstly, the 'The Law of Similars', the first forte of Homoeopathy, which was known both to Hippocrates, father of European Medicine and Indian Philosophy. But none experimented on the doctrine. It fell to the lot of Hahnemann to experiment on the dormant principle and to father The new school of medicine, Homoeopathy.
What is the difference between Homoeopathy and Allopathy? I'll explain it with a funny experiment. Suppose your hand is burnt. Put it in lukewarm water; you are applying Homoeopathy. Put it in cold water; you are applying Allopathy. You'll see the difference for yourself.
'Potentization' is the second forte of Homoeopathy. It brings out the dynamic power- not the chemical one- of the remedies and brings out order in the organisms. There is no scope for chemistry between the homoeo remedies and interior of the human organism; no basic chemical activity is possible; because beyond 12c potency Homoeo remedies contain no molecules at all; they go beyond Avogadro's number, which says that one gram mole of any substance contains 6.022x1023 of molecules. All this phenomenon may be called bio-physics. Allopathy is based on bio-chemistry. Then how does Homoeopathy work? Human organism contains bio-magnetic centers or nerve centers' that control the body. Homoeopathic medicine stimulates these nerve centers and establishes order in the organism.
Hahnemann explains that disease force affects the human organism on three levels:
1. Physical Level. eg. cancer, headache.
2. Mental Level. eg. forgetfulness.
3. Emotional level.eg. desire to kill, suicidal tendencies.
Depending on the susceptibility of the organism, disease force may attack it either on the Physical Level, or Mental Level or Emotional Level or on the three levels at the same time.
While selecting the remedy for a patient primary importance is given to the emotional or psychological symptoms, next to the mental symptoms and lastly to the Physical Symptoms. It means Homoeopathy gives utmost importance to psychology, I mean psychotherapy.
The following case is a testimony to the above statement.
A young lady, 27 years of age, unmarried came to me on 15th Feb.21. to be treated for Bell's palsy, right side- (facial paralysis). Mouth was drawn to left side. Actually it was the second time to appear. In 1913 it attacked first time and was treated with Allopathy. She had pain in the right jaw joint both in opening the mouth and masticating food.
She was given Causticum 50M. Which gave immediate relief. The mouth came to normal position, but the pain in the jaw was lingering. I gave Causticum CM. and was waiting.
To my surprise she told me that she wanted to commit su***de jumping from the top of the building. She was given Aurum Metallicum 50M. 2 doses. She was ok.
She was a clinical lab technician. After 20 days she told me that while taking biopsy form the cancer patients she wanted to commit su***de by cutting herself. She had also fear of blood. She had constipation, dryness of the skin. On these symptoms I prescribed her Alumina 50M.
