In our earlier video, we discussed what Tennis Elbow is and how it affects the elbow joint. In this video, Dr. Chaitanya Ghanta from Sree Sankalpa Hospital explains how Tennis Elbow can be treated.

When friction develops around the elbow joint, it often leads to pain and inflammation. To manage this condition, the following treatments are generally advised:
πŸ‘‰ Anti-inflammatory tablets to reduce pain and swelling
πŸ‘‰ Adequate rest for the elbow by avoiding activities like squeezing, rubbing, brooming, or any repetitive strain
πŸ‘‰ Completely avoiding heavy weight lifting until recovery
πŸ‘‰ Using a Tennis Elbow Brace just below the elbow for better support and relief

By following these treatment steps under proper medical guidance, patients can experience good recovery and prevent further complications.

In this video, Dr. Chaitanya Ghanta explains what Tennis Elbow is β€” and clears the common misconception that it only affects tennis players.

🧐 Many people think Tennis Elbow happens only to those who play tennis. No β€” while it was first noticed in tennis players, it can affect anyone who repeatedly uses their forearm muscles.

Who can get Tennis Elbow?
β€’ Sports players who frequently grip or swing equipment
β€’ People doing repetitive squeezing, twisting, or rubbing activities
β€’ Women performing regular household chores that strain the forearm
β€’ Workers lifting weights or tools repeatedly

What happens in Tennis Elbow?
The bone at the elbow is connected to the wrist muscles through tendons. Repetitive strain β€” such as lifting, squeezing, or friction β€” can cause these tendons to become inflamed and painful, leading to the condition known as Tennis Elbow.

πŸ’‘ Early diagnosis and proper treatment can help reduce pain and prevent worsening.

In this video, Dr. Chaitanya Ghanta from Sree Sankalpa Hospital explains when it is safe to return to sports after undergoing ACL surgery.

While you can definitely return to sports after an ACL reconstruction, it’s important to understand that healing takes time. The connection between the bone and tendon needs to fully recover before the knee can handle high-impact activities.

🦡 Rehabilitation is gradual and follows a structured physiotherapy protocol, which typically changes every 15 days based on your progress.

Here’s a general recovery timeline:
βœ… After 3 months – You can start brisk walking and light jogging
βœ… After 4 to 5 months – You can progress to running
⚽ For sports – A minimum of 6 months is recommended before resuming any sports activity

β›” Returning to sports too early increases the risk of re-tear or injury. So it’s strongly advised to wait at least 5 to 6 months before getting back into sports, and only after your doctor and physiotherapist give the green signal.

In this video, Dr. Chaitanya Ghanta, experienced orthopedic surgeon, explains whether knee replacement surgery can be performed on both knees at the same time.

It depends on the overall health condition of the patient, including sugar levels, blood pressure, thyroid function, and most importantly, heart fitness.

πŸ”Ή When Both Knees Can Be Operated Together:
β€’ All vital parameters (sugar, BP, thyroid) are normal
β€’ Cardiac condition is stable after evaluation
β€’ Anesthetist confirms the patient is fit for surgery
β€’ No major complications or risk factors are present

πŸ”Έ If Not Fit for Both at Once:
β€’ One knee is operated first, and the second is done after 3 days
β€’ In mild-risk patients, second knee surgery may be done after 1–2 months

βœ… The final decision is made by a dedicated medical team, which includes the orthopedic surgeon, anesthetist, and cardiologist β€” all working together to ensure the patient’s safety and best outcome.
