🔥Quadruped (hands and knees) hand weight-bearing is an advanced, closed-chain rehabilitation exercise for 🧠 stroke patients. It improves shoulder stability, wrist extension, and proprioception.

👉🏻Weight-bearing, or putting weight on an individual’s affected arm or leg, supports stroke recovery through proprioceptive input.

👉🏻At Osteorehab, For stroke patient we use Weight bearing exercises in quadruped position, exercises in modified plantigrade position, exercises in kneeling and half kneeling which later helps them in standing & walking.

👉🏻 Three major changes it can bring in patients:-

1) Regulation of Tone- Spasticity management

2) Trunk & proximal stability

3) Proprioceptive input:- sense of joints to brain

🧠One of The most common clinical feature of Parkinson’s disease (PD) is difficulty with posture. Most people with PD exhibit some degree of stooped posture !

👉🏻 People with PD characteristically walk and even sit in a stooped posture, with their shoulders hunched forward. This tends to tip a person’s center of gravity forward and can contribute to falls.

👉🏻 The progression of stooped posture can signal worsening of the underlying neurological condition. It’s crucial to monitor these changes closely.

👉🏻The underlying reasons for a stooped posture in Parkinson’s are primarily neurological. The disease affects the brain’s ability to regulate movement, leading to muscle stiffness and rigidity.

👉🏻 The impact of a hunched-over posture on daily life can be profound. It can limit mobility and independence.

👉🏻🔥 Treatment at Osteorehab for stooped posture in Parkinson’s Disease patients is focused on

1) Muscles strengthening specially posterior thoracic and neck muscles

2) Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Trunk patterns, Lift pattern & Bilateral upper limb patterns

3) Osteopathy based gentle thoracic mobilisation

4) Patients family education

5) Verbal & visual cues, Feedback training

6) Stretching exercises though it is less effective in PD patients

👉🏻 Poor posture is becoming increasingly common as people spend more time sitting at work and at home.
Even if it isn’t causing immediate pain, slouching places extra stress on your joints and muscles, which can eventually lead to discomfort, stiffness, and long-term structural problems.

👉🏻Kyphosis is an excessive outward curvature of the spine, defined as measuring 50 degrees or more on an X-ray and called ‘hunchback’ or ‘round back’.

🔥 Major Treatment At Osteorehab for Hunch Back/ Kyphosis

1) Physiotherapy & Clinical Pilates :

Our qualified physiotherapist recommend exercises to improve posture, reduce pain, and preserve mobility. They also aim to strengthen the core, rhomboids and stretch the pectorals muscles.

Our Pilates Instructor helps to regain mobility, flexibility at neck & upper back region using reformer & ladder barrel & the same time helps in Neuromuscular control.

2) Chiropractic Adjustment & osteopathy mobilisation :

Our Chiropractic team helps in aligning bones specially vertebrate by giving spine adjustments.

Our osteopathy team helps in giving gentle mobilisation and using muscle energy techniques to regain spine mobility and improving muscle flexibility.

🔥 PNF techniques have been around since the late 1930s and ‘40s when a physician and neurologist named Herman Kabat & Physiotherapist Knott began using proprioceptive techniques on younger individuals with cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions. He found that by stimulating the distal segments, the proprioceptors in the more proximal segments became stimulated.

In modern times, PNF Approach is practiced on Neuro, ortho , sports & cardiopulmonary patients with lots of recent developments into techniques and variations.

PNF is designed to improve overall movements through proper neuromuscular facilitation or inhibition. In order for functional training to have the best results, fundamental movements must be adequate or compensations will arise.

Among the basic principles, Irradiation activate weak muscles with using strong muscles with radiation of nerve impulses.

In Given video, we are using Bilateral upper limbs to cause irradiation and to reinforce trunk muscles.

🧠 Parkinson’s disease is a neurological issue which is most often recognized for its motor symptoms, such as tremor or stiffness.

👉🏻 The hallmark signs of PD are the motor symptoms as these are generally movements we can see with our own eyes.
The four cardinal motor symptoms are:

slow movement: the medical term is “bradykinesia”
rigidity: stiffness of the arms, legs, or neck
tremor
balance issues: the medical term is “postural instability”

Other than these symptoms what stands out most is walking or gait difficulty: freezing of gait, festination or shuffling, lack of arm swing!

Swallowing difficulty- Dysphagia is also one of the symptoms.

At Osteorehab, we have best Neuro physiotherapy team which helps PD patients to reduce symptoms and improve life quality!

Our team work on Balance, coordination, strength training, Gait Training etc !

🔥 Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury Rehabilitation 🔥

👉🏻Rehabilitation is a key component of the recovery process after an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR).
Rehabilitation following anterior cruciate ligament surgery continues to change, with the current emphasis being on immediate weight bearing and range of motion, and progressive muscular strengthening, proprioception, dynamic stability, and neuromuscular control drills.

👉🏻The fundamental goal for the athlete is to return to sport as quickly as possible, preferably performing at the same level as preinjury, while minimising the risk of reinjury.

👉🏻Around 80% of ACL-reconstructed patients return to some kind of sporting activities, but only 65% return to their preinjury level and 55% to competitive level sports.

👉🏻 while there is lot of role of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Approach, Proprioceptive training, agility training, strength conditioning, coordination training etc in later part of rehab , there is also great role of Pilates in ACL recovery with reformer and wunda chair.

🔥Anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) injury is generally accepted as one of the most important reasons for chronic ankle instability along with CFL.
👉🏻The ATFL injuries could be divided into six subtypes based on ultrasound imaging: I: Intact ligament; II: Injury at the fibular side; III:Injury at the talar side; IV: Tear at the midsubstance; V:Ligament absorbed; VI:Combined injury.

👉🏻 Ankle sprains are one of the most common musculoskeletal injuries, with an estimated incidence rate of about 2 per 1,000 persons in the general population. Sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, and trail running report higher rates of ankle sprains.

👉🏻 Rehabilitation is the most important after ATFL injury.

👉🏻 There are many factors that contribute to such a high reoccurrence rate including:

Inadequate rehabilitation
Poor neuromuscular control
Structural/anatomical changes
Inadequate footwear
Poor surface conditions
Insufficient education or awareness of the need to restore proper strength
Mobility
Proprioception
Functional mobility

At Osteorehab, we have complete solution from early rehab to later stage rehab which helps in return to sports.

🧠Neuropilates is an intervention approach that was developed by Neuro Physiotherapists at Osteorehab clinic using Reformer Pilates Method for neurological rehabilitation.

👉🏻The Pilates Method was created by Joseph Pilates in 1920 as a health-promotion approach aimed to help to control the position and movement of the body

👉🏻 Stroke survivors, Parkinson’s disease patients, spinal cord injuries patients & other neurological patients frequently face motor and cognitive deficits due to the brain or Spine damage.
Movement disorders & other challenges like balance, mobility and strength are found in such patients.

👉🏻Neuropilates protocol is always individually tailored to meet each participant’s difficulties or disabilities.
In this protocol we work with motor learning & motor control based exercises and strengthening of the upper and lower limbs, as well as balance and strengthening of the abdominal musculature.
