"Disaster Management & First Aid Training" was successfully organized on 5th December 2025 at D-Block, SGT University, by Dashmesh College of Nursing under Faculty of Nursing, SGT University, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society. The initiative aimed to equip nursing students with essential life-saving skills and emergency preparedness.

The event commenced with an auspicious lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by the felicitation of the guest speaker, Ms. Sangeeta Khatkar, First Aid Lecturer, Indian Red Cross Society.

Ms. Sangeeta conducted an engaging and interactive session featuring live demonstrations of CPR, wound care, and disaster response techniques. Students actively participated in hands-on practice, which improved their confidence and readiness to handle real-life emergency situations.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Ms. Sangeeta Khatkar, the organizing team, and all enthusiastic participants, while highlighting the importance of empathy, quick response, and preparedness in emergencies.

Breast Self-Examination (BSE): Early Detection, Lifelong Protection

The Department of Community Health Nursing, in collaboration with Samajik Vikas – SGT ka Prayas and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, launched a dedicated Community Awareness Campaign focused on Breast Self-Examination (BSE). Recognizing BSE as a simple yet powerful tool for early detection of breast cancer, the initiative aimed to equip community members—especially women—with essential knowledge and practical skills that can save lives.

This campaign reflected the department’s ongoing commitment to promoting preventive healthcare practices, strengthening community engagement, and fostering health literacy at the grassroots level.

Campaign Highlights

* Health Education Session on Breast Self-Examination (BSE):Interactive discussions on the importance of early detection and recognizing warning signs.
* Hands-on Demonstration: Step-by-step teaching of BSE techniques to enhance confidence and accuracy in self-screening.
* Role Play:Engaging presentations to reinforce awareness, correct myths, and encourage regular BSE as part of routine self-care.

🌿 To mark National Pollution Control/Prevention Day, an awareness event was organized focusing on the theme “Clean Air, Clean Future: Collective Action for a Pollution-Free India.” The program highlighted the growing concerns of pollution and encouraged students to adopt sustainable habits for a healthier environment.
The event featured an Intra-University Competition, where students from various departments of SGT University—including Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, Allied Health Sciences, Nursing and many others—actively participated and showcased their creativity and environmental awareness.

✨ Activities included a Quiz Competition and a Reel Making Competition, both of which saw enthusiastic engagement.
In the Quiz Competition, Team B—Lochan (FABS), Himanshi (FABS), and Chanchal (FCAM)—and Team H—Anuj (SGTCOP), Aditya (SGTCOP), and Rajat (SGTCOP)—emerged as winners for their outstanding performance.
In the Reel Making Competition, Anayk (B.Sc. Nursing, 3rd Semester) secured the First Prize, while Mirosh (B.Sc. Nursing, 3rd Semester) earned the Second Prize for their creativity and impactful messaging.
The event, organized by the Wellbeing Club under the Department of Community Health Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, SGT University, successfully promoted the importance of collective action towards reducing pollution and inspired students to work towards a cleaner, healthier future. 🌱 Together, let’s work towards a pollution-free future!

Exploring Digital Health Advancements at NRCeS, C-DAC Pune

A remarkable visit to the National Resource Centre for EHR Standards (NRCeS), C-DAC Pune, on 21st November 2025, offered valuable insights into the evolving landscape of Electronic Health Records (EHR), health informatics, and digital healthcare transformation. Established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), NRCeS plays a pivotal role in promoting the adoption and implementation of EHR standards across India.

It was a privilege to meet Shri Gaur Sunder, Chief Investigator & Scientist F (Associate Director), C-DAC Pune, along with the dynamic team — Mr. Achyut Patil, Dr. Suresh Sharma, and Ms. Monika. Their insights and expertise made this interaction both inspiring and productive.

Representing the SGT University, Gurugram, Dr. Sunil Kumar Dular, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, and Dr. Sarika Yadav, Associate Dean, visited the Centre to explore collaboration opportunities and exchange knowledge on health information systems and digital standards.

Our discussions focused on establishing a Centre for Health Informatics and Training at SGT University, Gurugram, aimed at equipping healthcare professionals and students with advanced competencies in digital health, simulation-based training, and effective EHR integration in clinical education and practice.

We look forward to continued collaboration to strengthen capacity building, innovation, and digital excellence in India’s healthcare ecosystem.

The Faculty of Nursing, SGT University organized a Student Group Discussion on 25th November 2025 to mark the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, honouring his supreme sacrifice for religious freedom and human dignity. The discussion was held on the theme:
“Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and His Sacrifice: Its Impact on History, Education, and the Economics of India.”
The event began with remarks , followed by a brief presentation on Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s life and teachings. Students actively participated in the group discussion, sharing their views on his role in defending religious freedom, the moral and humanitarian lessons from his martyrdom, and the relevance of his values—courage, justice, and compassion—in today’s society.
Faculty and students together reflected on how the Guru’s message continues to inspire selfless leadership and human rights in the modern world. The session concluded with key takeaways and a vote of thanks.
A meaningful and insightful activity that honoured the Guru’s timeless legacy and strengthened core values among students.

The Faculty of Nursing, SGT University, in collaboration with the Office of International Relations, successfully organized an International Seminar on
“A Global Perspective on Elevating Care: Innovations in Advanced Nursing Practice.”
The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, postgraduate students, researchers, and nursing professionals, creating an engaging environment for learning and academic exchange.
We were honored to host Dr. Lucille Kelsall-Knight, Associate Professor, Director of Pre-Registration Nursing Programmes, Children's Nurse & Educator, College of Medicine and Health, University of Birmingham, UK, as the keynote speaker. Her thought-provoking session highlighted:
• Global advancements in advanced nursing roles and responsibilities
• Innovations in nursing education and competency-based training
• Evidence-based practices enhancing patient-centered care
• Leadership and future directions in advanced nursing practice worldwide
The interactive discussions and reflective deliberations enabled participants to explore how international best practices can be adapted into the Indian nursing education and healthcare context. The seminar served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, professional inspiration, and strengthening global academic collaborations.

Workshop titled “Mindfulness and Art for Stress Relief” for faculty members on 18th November 2025 at D-Block 202 organized by the Nightingale Club of Stress Management, Department of Mental Health Nursing, SGT University - Faculty of Nursing.
The session was led by Mrs. Manya Khanna, Expressive Art-Based Therapist, Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Science, Fortis Healthcare. The engaging workshop included mindfulness based activities, Tai-chi movements, and art-based exercises designed to help participants identify stressors, foster emotional balance, and enhance resilience. Faculty members actively participated and reflected on strategies for achieving work-life balance, self-acceptance, and mindfulness based awareness.This initiative reinforced SGT University’s ongoing commitment in promoting faculty wellness and holistic professional development.

Newborn Care Week 2025

As part of the ongoing Newborn Care Week 2025 celebration, the Bridge Well Club, Department of Child Health Nursing, SGT University, successfully conducted poster and quiz competitions on 18th November, 2025.
The poster competition showcased the creativity, insight, and awareness of the students as they portrayed key aspects of newborn care. In quiz competition, students enthusiastically answered questions related to Newborn Resuscitation Program (NRP), Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC), Breastfeeding, and Essential Newborn Care.
Through these activities, the Bridge Well Club continues to inspire students to strengthen their skills, expand their knowledge, and uphold the highest standards of care.
