Trans fat is the worst type of dietary fat for your health.

Eating foods containing trans fats increases the amount of harmful LDL cholesterol in the bloodstream and reduces the amount of beneficial HDL cholesterol.

Trans fats create inflammation, which is linked to heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and other chronic conditions.

Snacks often picked for nighttime binging are highly processed and contain large amounts of added sugar or fat, making them calorie-dense and nutrient-poor.

Also, these snacks are often eaten in front of TV or laptop screen while you’re distracted and you may end up consuming more calories than you actually want to.

Overeating less healthy foods into the night may result in unwanted weight gain and other health issues, like disrupted sleep or indigestion.

✅ Practice setting an end time for your last meal of the day, ensuring you meet all of your calorie and nutrient needs before then.

What are acidity regulators?

Acidity regulators as the name suggest regulate the acidity of food to maintain an optimal level of pH which in turn helps enhance the shelf life of the food product.

Are you consuming acidity regulators yet unaware of it?

Ideally the answer would be a NO. However, if you look at the ingredient list of food labels on most commonly used kitchen items, there’s a good chance you’ll spot them.

There are various side effects of these “hidden” ingredients, hence one must limit their intake of processed & packaged foods like dressings and sauces, jams, jellies, biscuits, cake mixes, bakery items, soups.

Read food labels and refuse to buy products with such synthetic ingredients.

Though the nine-day Navratri fasting is a great way to lose weight, it can actually go the opposite! Here’s why:

1. Not eating proper meals and then snacking on packaged foods, vrat chips, sweets, laddoos and more

2. Opting for fried and heavy meals (like fried potato tikkis, pooris, fried kuttu roti, fried potato chaat) instead of the healthy options

3. Eating outside food more often than cooking at home (for eg: eating vrat chips instead of roasting makhanas at home)

4. Skipping fruits and veggies

5. Not hydrating enough

SWIPE LEFT for a sample diet plan that you can consider during Navratri fasting !

Pregnancy might seem like the perfect time to sit back and relax. You likely feel more tired than usual, and your back might ache from carrying extra weight.

But unless you're experiencing complications, sitting around won't help. In fact, pregnancy can be a great time to get active — even if you haven't exercised in a while.

Before you begin an exercise program, make sure you have your health care provider's OK.

For most pregnant women, at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise is recommended on most, if not all, days of the week.

is a great exercise for beginners. It provides moderate aerobic conditioning with minimal stress on your joints. Other good choices include swimming, pre-natal yoga and cycling on a stationary bike.

Motherhood brings on so many tough challenges. Take a breath, know that you’re doing great! ⁣

An inspiration to new moms, Monika Sharma, has successfully lost about 9 kgs in 11 weeks. ⁣She was not prescribed a weight loss diet but a diet for lactation.
By eating a whole-foods, nutrient rich diet and following a healthy lifestyle post her pregnancy, Monika was able to lose those kilos naturally!

Pro-tip: Do not rush! Your body gained all that weight slowly and it will take time to reach back at the same fitness level as you were before pregnancy.

DO NOT CRASH DIET! After delivering a baby, your body needs good nutrition to heal and recover. In addition, if you are breastfeeding, you require more calories than normal. Hence you need a diet planned according to your physiological condition (lactation).

You should plan to return to your
pre-pregnancy weight by 6 to 12 months after delivery.

Breastfeeding is a tough grind! Your body needs more calories and nutrients to keep you and your baby nourished and healthy.

If you’re not consuming enough calories or nutrient-rich foods, this can negatively affect the quality and/or quantity of your breast milk. It can also be detrimental for your own health.

It’s more important than ever to eat a variety of healthy, nutritious foods and limit processed foods.

Important nutrients during this phase: Calcium, Omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin A, B12 & D.

Take a test to check your thyroid levels.

When to get thyroid function test?
- Sudden weight gain or loss
- Muscle pain
- Intolerance to hot or cold temperatures
- Fatigue

Tests to evaluate thyroid function include the following:
T3, T4, TSH & Thyroid Antibody Tests

Measuring levels of thyroid antibodies may help diagnose the cause of the thyroid problem. For example, positive anti-thyroid peroxidase and/or anti-thyroglobulin antibodies in a patient with hypothyroidism result in a diagnosis of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.

❗️ Book a consult with us, if you think you need a more personalised approach in overcoming issues like thyroid imbalance.
