The requirement of blood is universal for saving lives. It can help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions live longer and supports complex medical and surgical procedures.
A single blood donation can help save up to three lives. Yet blood donations are prevalent in developed countries which accounts for 42% of the global blood donation.
An adequate supply of safe blood can be assured through regular donations by voluntary unpaid blood donations. To appreciate blood donors and to increase awareness, the World Health Assembly has designated June 14th as “World Blood Donor Day”
