Request herb extract vendors to throw some light on the same / present authentic studies with comparative analysis.

As of now, what's being claimed is that leaves were also added during the process of extraction while Ayurveda clearly mentions that the root of Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is the part relevant for therapeutic purposes. It is also claimed that KSM 66 is a result of 14 years of research and it is prepared out of green technology without any use of synthetic chemicals or alcohol at any step.

No proper studies could be obtained on KSM 66, a patented extract of Ashwagandha, wherein it could be observed that it is in any case better than standardized extract of Ashwagandha with more than a certain percentage of withanolides.

As far as action is considered, almost everywhere it is mentioned that KSM 66 'may be' better than regular extract and that depends on patient's health condition.
Now, Ashwandha is a herb that's majorly used for its energizing, calming and adaptogenic impact when taken as a single herb supplement. Relevant studies on comparative antioxidant impact must be done/shared so that the physician as well as the patient is sure about the supplement that's being given or taken.

In brief, why should one take KSM 66 when one is getting desired results with present formulations? Why should one pay extra for an extract of Ashwagandha when clarity isn't there regarding how far additionally beneficial KSM 66 is?

We have gone a step forward today when we talk about anti-aging because we know how telemeres are protecting our chromosomes, and the length of telomeres is extremely significant when it comes to aging and diseases. The enzyme 'telomerase' helps in guarding and elongating the length of stresssed/shortened telomeres to produce that health promoting and anti-aging impact.

Telomere length is positively associated with the consumption of legumes, nuts, seaweed, fruits, and 100% fruit juice, dairy products, and coffee, whereas it is inversely associated with consumption of alcohol, red meat, or processed meat.

Chronic Stress and chronic inflammation is harming our telomeres, and aggravating the process of aging, wear and tear.

Ayurvedic herbs are quite useful for the management of age-related problems. There are several natural bioactive agents present in plants that can delay the aging process in humans. They trigger actions like enhancing gene longevity and telomerase activity. ROS scavenging furthers the regeneration of tissues.

Pain or discomfort is the commonest presenting symptom when we suffer from any disorder.
Vata is considered as the main causative factor of pain according to Ayurveda. "Vatadrite Nasti Ruja"... Pain cannot exist/happen without the involvement of Vata (here, Vitiated/Imbalanced Vata. Always remember that Vata in its balanced state is conducting every minor and major function, every vital function in the system.

There are various shades of pain described in Ayurveda like Stambha (stiffness), Gaurava (heaviness), Chatita (cracking type of pain), Udvestana (cramp), Sparsha-Asahatva (tenderness), Pipilika-Sarpati-Ev (numbness), Vrikkashula (renal-colic), Sphurana (fasciculation), Kartana (cutting pain), Toda (pricking pain), Daha (burning pain), Graha (stiffness), Sankocha (contraction) or Bheda (tearing pain).

Vata naturally gets accumulated in Summers, and, during that season, if one didn't pay much heed to Vata balancing diet and lifestyle, then one is prone to all sorts of pain and stiffnesses in joints or elsewhere. That's why following seasonal guidelines (Ritucharya) has been given utmost importance in Ayurveda.

Apart from aggravating Vata during Rainy season, Pitta comes into picture as it starts getting accumulated, and this combination of Vata&Pitta creates lot of hassles in the system.

If you wish to keep Pitta under control so that your autumn season goes healthy, try not to include hot, spicy and oily food articles in your diet. Keep it light; neither overeat nor fast. Restrict or almost abolish the intake of non-veg food articles (isn't it in sync with people leaving non-veg during saavan maah as per Hindu mythology... of course, Ayurveda and all such practices are closely related and are very scientific).

On a lighter note, everybody loves fritters during Rains... have you ever noticed that if you overindulge in them, your gut is going to make you repent for it in few hours๐Ÿ˜„. For sure, much depends on your Prakriti as well. For example, those with Kapahaja or Kapha predominant Prakriti will be somewhat immune to these disorders.

Keeping these little facts in mind can save you from lot many troubles.

Stay healthy and enjoy Rains
