Umoya Sports champions the attitude by bringing sports in lives of children with disabilities and promote inclusion through sports

Umoya, derives its meaning from the African language Zulu which translates to “Spirit”. Umoya Sports is a non-profit organization aiming to build an inclusive society by bringing people with disabilities and able bodied individuals together through sports. We inspire to create equal opportunities for all and use sports as a platform to develop life skills and healthy habits among people with disabilities that will help them socially. We hope to build friendships by enabling people with Disability and able bodied individuals to participate in sports together – bond over common love; understand and appreciate other’s problems, perspectives. We believe such levelled platforms will build empathy and awareness about people with disability, thereby bringing a change in the society and encourage inclusion.

Historic Moment for Team India! 🇮🇳

We are proud to announce that Wheelchair Ultimate Team India will be representing our nation at the World Wheelchair Ultimate Championship (WWUC) 2025 in Lithuania! 🌍

The stage is set and so is Team India! 🇮🇳

This historic landmark debut not only puts India on the global map of adaptive sports but also marks the beginning of a larger movement to expand access to wheelchair ultimate at the grassroots level.

We are rallying to build the para-sports movement in India, where grit, resilience, and dreams come alive.

For all of us, this is the realization of a dream to play under the Indian flag — a symbol of pride, identity, and the limitless spirit of sport and the vision of putting Indian Ultimate and para-sports on the world map.

For years, our athletes have pushed limits, juggled personal commitments, trained with full passion, and now with every pass, every throw, and every goal, our athletes are shaping history and showing the world what it truly means to rise against odds and carry that dream to the global stage 💪

We are profoundly grateful to our partners and supporters who have stood by us from the very beginning — when this was just an idea. Their unwavering belief in our vision, building an equitable world through inclusive sport and in our athletes has transformed that vision into this historic reality.

🏆 CHAMPIONS!

Huge congratulations to Vijay Kumar, our TSI Fellow, and the entire Delhi Dabang team for their phenomenal victory in the 6th Indian Wheelchair Cricket Premier League! 🏆

This wasn't just a win, it was a statement! They blazed past their opponents to win by a massive 78 runs! Imagine the skill and determination it takes to play with such power and precision from a wheelchair. 💪

Vijay and his team have proven that with passion and a winning spirit, anything is possible!

The tournament, which ran from June 7th to 14th, brought together 158 amazing athletes from 8 teams, but our heroes were unbeatable!
Vijay Kumar, you are a true inspiration, and your victory has motivated us all to reach higher! This isn't just a match; it's a story of grit, glory, and never giving up!

We’re bursting with pride as our special athletes, Krishna, Manan, Neil and Luv – dove into action and truly outshined themselves at the championship!

Few of these athletes started swimming very recently and their courage, dedication, and spirit in the pool were nothing short of inspirational. They performed with purpose, breaking barriers and winning hearts. 💖🏊‍♀

Yogesh didn’t just wear the captain’s armband—he led with heart, strength, and purpose, scoring a crucial goal in the final and inspiring the squad with his resilience and vision.

His journey from being an athlete to becoming a true leader is what The Second Innings is all about: empowering sportspersons with disabilities to rise, lead, and transform.
With the unwavering support of Special Olympics Bharat, SKF India, our champions showed the world what inclusion truly looks like—where ability, teamwork, and determination know no boundaries.
