Grapes! What grapes?
Yes, the yummy juicy fruit which is high in oxidants, in season and loaded with vitamin C.
It has high amount vitamin K.
Potassium in grapes helps in regulating blood pressure.
There 2 fun ways in which you can use grapes:
1. Add them to salad to give that sweet-sour taste. It works with all kind of salads.😊😊
2. Make chutney/dip. In a pan, dry roast cinnamon, clove. Add grapes purée and cook it till water evaporates. Now add a pinch of hing, salt and jeera powder. If you want to make it sweeter, you can add 1 spoon sugar.

Choliya or green gram is one of the winter special which is eaten as snacks, sabzi, pulao, poha, parantha, chutney and what not.
Choliya is high on protein, Vitamin and minerals. Try to eat it cooked (after soaking in water) as it has protease, an enzyme that does not inhibits nutrient absorption (now you know why soaking rajma, chole is a suggested)
Double tap if you like choliya?

Chura Matar (poha with peas) is a Benarsi version of poha which is undoubtedly tasty and healthy dish.
Peas are very much in this season and is a vegan source of protein. So use this as breakfast or evening snack!
Tip: Instead of sev top it up with roasted and roughly crushed peanut to add crunch and nutrition.

Sesame Bites!

So when we posted the stories to guess what are we making for Makar Sakaranti, most of you guessed it right!

These small bites are made from sesame seeds, jaggery and ghee. Very very easy to make.

Take some ghee in pan and add jaggery. Keep stirring till jaggery is not completely melted. Cool it down a little and then add seeds. Roll them in small balls.

Benefits:

1. Good fat to regulate your hormones.

2. A very high source of Calcium and Iron.

3. These magical small seeds are loaded with protein, fibre, copper, magnesium and zinc.

Tips: Make the ladoos in smaller size so that you can customise the intake. For example, if you have cravings post lunch you can pop one tiny ladoo or if you are taking them as a snack, you can pick 2 or max 3 (only of ladoo are very tiny) or have them as super quick breakfast with a cup of milk and sesame ladoo!

Winter's are difficult and tempting! Especially evening snacks.

Obviously you can't be eating all those samosas, bread pakodas everyday.
So going back to basics, instead of having much fried food from outside, go for homemade delicacies like besan cheela. Easy to make and is healthy ofcourse. For that 'Shaam ki Choti Bhook', besan cheela is a thumbs up! Team it up with green chutney for added flavours.

Hello Friends, Salad Khaa lo!
This Salad king is a reminder that winters are here, we would eat denser food than summer so including fibre is a smart way to keep that cravings and overeating away. Carrot/Radish/Turnip/Beetroot are great choice of salad during winters. Try to eat them as mid-day snack. (People with tendency of getting cold may these vegetables at night).
Not just fibre, you get good amount of Carotene, Antioxidants, Iron, Vitamin B, K and plenty of healthy minerals.
Add chaat masala or kala namak or lime or have it just like that!
You may also have different other veggies like spinach, lettuce, onion, tomato, broccoli, mushrooms and what not.
P.S. The lettuce is super easy to grow and yields a good amount. The lettuce in the picture is from home garden.
