For three years, Asubi lived with a painful eye injury while continuing to work daily as a farm labourer to support her large family of nine children. Earning just ₹5,000–₹8,000 a month, she could barely afford basic needs, making medical treatment impossible to prioritize.

Her injury occurred when a piece of wood pierced her eye, causing constant pain and gradually worsening vision. Though she sought help from local doctors, the medicines brought side effects, and surgery felt too risky and unaffordable. Personal tragedy, including the loss of her daughter, further delayed her care.

Over time, her condition worsened, and a white patch developed in her eye. Relief finally came when she attended an eye screening camp organized by Arunodaya Charitable Trust. There, she was examined and encouraged to seek further treatment.

For Asubi, this moment marked renewed hope — not just for her vision, but for her ability to work, care for her children, and regain stability in her life.

Om Pal, a 63-year-old daily wage labourer from Kaithad village, Badshahpur (Gurgaon), depends on clear eyesight to support his family and care for his grandchildren. His vision problems began after a truck accident injured his eye, leading to cataract and a costly surgery at a private hospital.

When similar symptoms appeared in his other eye, financial concerns made another surgery difficult. During a village eye screening camp, he was diagnosed with cataract again and was guided by his sarpanch to Arunodaya Deseret Eye Hospital, where he received free treatment and medicines.

The surgery was smooth, with minimal discomfort, and his recovery has been successful. Now pain-free and able to continue his daily responsibilities, Om Pal is also encouraging others in his village to seek timely eye care.
