Artemis Social Responsibility

Artemis Social Responsibility For Artemis, social responsibility is visceral and deep rooted in both our values and core beliefs. Gurugram has grown by leaps and bounds.

Our programs are focused and intended to impact the lives of many ‘Nurturing Life’ which is visible from our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative Boondh and other programs under Artemis Health Sciences Foundation. It is the leading financial and industrial hub which accounts for the third-highest per capita income in India. While its lustre and grandeur has transformed the face of once what were vast empty patches of terrain to a multi-cultural, global tech hub for investments and employment it is encountered with several challenges. This sporadic flux by way of its expansion has enforced pressure on the essential resources and infrastructures which the administration is confronted with. The immense pressure predominantly on the depleting groundwater calls for systematic planning and effective management of water resources. As a result of intense urbanization and industrialization, most of the storm runoff goes to the sewer or storm drains and defeats the recharge contribution from rainfall. The Ground Water Resource estimation of the district was done by Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) in 2009 for Gurugram district. An exhaustive survey of the estimates reveal that the overall stage of groundwater development in the district is in the tune of 232% which has exceeded the replenish-able recharge and thus the district has been classified as being over exploited. BOONDH- a water conservation initiative by Artemis Hospitals implemented by FORCE seeks to address this formidable task which is slowly but surely swamping entire Gurugram. Artemis is resolute towards bringing change that lasts and Boondh, our CSR initiative is focused on water conservation to bring up an indelible change through awareness, cognizance and actual on ground execution of sustainable water conservation initiatives like rainwater harvesting which brings together multiple stakeholders to dialogue/think/collaborate and act on saving this natural resource for tomorrow. The focus of the project is on creating mass awareness on water conservation, maintain old rainwater harvesting structures to increase the recharge potential of existing structures and construct new rain water harvesting structures in Gurugram thereby creating a model for many to follow. On other hand, Artemis Health Sciences Foundation draws its strength from the hospital and is heavily committed towards spreading awareness about cancer and is successfully transforming lives through early detection and treatment of the underserved communities. The stakeholders too are a part of the same fabric and are partners in change and equal contributors towards enabling us nurture each life. The state of the art mobile cancer screening unit together with our doctors and staff enables us to reach out to the far flung areas and communities turning around the time for a better life. We have impacted more than 6000 lives across Haryana through our Foundation and CSR programs till date.
