COVID19 STORY
When majority of us are undergoing a tremendous mental stress n through a scary situation of how n when the VIRUS can attack us, myself as a nutritionist would like to share my bit of experience too which can justify that this deadly virus is really very very strange n very much unpredictable...its going on mutating n no one is aware of its effects n symptoms in any individual, in every individual it can react in a different way
One fine morning my elder son woke up from sleep n told me he was hvng severe weakness n slight running nose...immediately I told him to wear mask n isolate himself inside his room...the whole day we monitored his temp n oxygen every 4hrly...only ones his temp showed 99.4 degree F.without any paracetamol it subsided...
the very next day we consulted doctor...doctor started with antibiotics, vit C,zinc supplements, steam inhalation...for full 3 days he had severe weakness, almost confined to bed, on 3rd day he had loss of smell n taste...on 5th day we all had RTPCR test...
but all our reports came NEGETIVE...but we were sure shot that our elder son was infected as he had lost smell...
Now here comes the funda why inspite of test report coming negetive patients show classic clinical symptoms of covid 19...there is a term known as CT which means cycle threshold...the more the infection in ones body the CT value will be low and that patient can spread the infection more faster than a patient having high CT value...CT value below 35 is considered to be covid positive...that means a patient having symptoms but rtPCR test negetive means his CT value is more than 35, which means he has very mild infection, so it's not getting detected in the test or may be during the time of test the virus is not there at the spot from where the nasal or throat swab is taken
Hence assuming that our son has mild infection we kept continuing following all protocols of keeping him isolated, hydrating him with plenty of fluids,n checking his temp n oxygen level daily from time to time...on his 10th day he regained his sense of smell...till 14 days he quarantined himself but as symptoms subsided n he didnt infect any other family members his dr did not recommend for going for a 2nd test....
But of course we all did our blood test for quantitative IgG antibody detection in our body after my son recovered fully...me n my hubby were on our 7th week post covid 1st dose vaccination, so our blood tests showed antibody production in our body...but mysteriously our son's blood test didnt even show any covid antibodies within him...we were utterly surprised to believe this report...again we consulted our family physician who explained us that his reports say he was not a "covid victim" but his clinical symptoms show he is a "covid warrior"..so this is another side ,another story, another version of covid 19...
Then I started researching n reading more n more articles in various journals n gained further knowledge on this covid antibody test...2 types of IgG tests are there:
1) qualitative which will give you the amount of antibodies in your body
2) quantitative which will only indicate whether your body has antibodies or not
These antibodies are formed if you are exposed to covid infection or have been vaccinated
There are quiet a few examples that a 30yr lady badly infected by covid has shown almost about 250 IgG antibody n her hubby 35yr old mildly affected had 0 antibody, again a man of 35yr old after covid vaccination showed 15 IgG antibody in test whereas his 65 yr old father after severe covid infection showed 400 value in quantitative antibody test...Hence two things can be concluded:
1)young in age, stronger immune system the less antibody production
2)more severely affected by covid, more antibody production
THE PUNCH LINE IS:
maintain all protocols and start medicine n monitoring n consulting doctor from the very 1st day of showing any sort of symptoms...
1)have nutritious food specially high protein of high BV,zinc, vit C rich food items n
2)plenty of fluids like coconut water n fruit juices..
you are ought to win covid 19...stay safe, stay healthy n pls pls DONT PANIC...."DO THE RIGHT THING AT THE RIGHT HOUR" n be a COVID WARRIOR
