For mothers of new born babies and toddlers up to one year. Please take note of these precautions for your child. New born babies born preterm are always at risk for the following;-
1. Learning problems when they go to school.
2. Delayed milestones.
3. Delayed speech which also lead to learning problems.
4. More serious issues like dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, and other syndromes related to delayed development etc.
Please note that these problems are not incurable as is propagated by some medical practitioners, but most of these issues can be averted or even cured if treated as early as when they are born.
New born babies born premature or of low birth weight should immediately be put on an early intervention program. It is absolutely important at this stage to state that Early Intervention can never be over-emphasized for babies, as also that it is simple and the mother can do it herself to a great extent.
Such new born babies need to be screened by experts to further find out if the baby is indeed in the risk group or not. Please note that assuming that the child is not in the risk group (as is always mostly done), is undesirable for the child’s welfare. For more help call: 9212003743
