Waste doesn’t end with disposal, it begins with awareness!

This week, PVR NEST’s skilling and WASH cohorts including community women came together for an engaging Waste Management Workshop with Roundglass Foundation. Through interactive conversations on waste segregation, composting, and building community champions, the session turned everyday actions into meaningful lessons for change.

A heartfelt thank you to Neeru Khanna, Kahkashan Wanchoo and Raj Kishor for bringing such warmth, practical knowledge, and inspiration to our communities.

Because when communities learn together, cleaner and stronger neighborhoods follow.

Across 35 urban slum communities in Delhi, our 11 centres, including Garima Grihs and Pink Centres, are often the first place migrant women and families turn to for support, especially when the lack of identity documents keeps them excluded from essential services.

That’s why setting up a Common Service Centre has been such a meaningful step.

We are deeply grateful to Digital Empowerment Foundation for partnering with us to establish a CSC at our Garima Grih in Kirti Nagar, training our teams, and supporting us throughout this journey.

On May 1, we had the privilege of welcoming Mr. Osama Manzar, Founder & Director- DEF, whose commitment to digital inclusion continues to create opportunities for those often left behind.

It was truly inspiring to see Mr. Manzar spend time with our CSC team and meet community women who have now been able to get their Aadhaar cards, access ABHA health IDs, and take their first steps into formal systems.

PVR NEST hosted an engaging session on DigiLocker and digital safety for our skilling and WASH teams, along with community women and girls.

The session focused on helping women learn how to safely store their documents and use digital services with confidence. It was wonderful to see such an interactive and enthusiastic response from the participants.

A special thank you to Mr.Manish sharma , widely known as the “Pad Man of Delhi”, for leading this session. With years of experience in community work, he has been working tirelessly to bring change at the grassroots.

At PVR NEST, creating safe and inclusive spaces for migrant women and girls goes hand in hand with nurturing the children in these communities

As we expand our safety and protection initiatives across the city and set up a new Garima Grih centre at Naraina Industrial Area, we engaged with around 50 children from nearby communities and anganwadis for a storytelling session.

With the wonderful Sunita ji from READ India, stories came alive, blending the fun world of Shin Chan with life lessons and games. The joy, laughter, and curiosity made it truly special

We were equally happy to see mothers join in, as we also conducted a session on the importance of nutrition, followed by the distribution of nutritious meals.

Special thanks to Dr. Geeta Malhotra, Country Director, READ India for constant support.

Some partnerships are truly special.

We are deeply grateful to the Rotary Delhi Ashoka Chapter for supporting a meaningful initiative focused on building digital excellence within migrant communities.

Through this collaboration, we are developing digital learning curriculum across three centres including Garima Grih (Kirti Nagar) and Pink Centres at RK Puram and Vikaspuri along with strengthening digital infrastructure.

This initiative will empower community women and girls with digital skills, learning, confidence, and employment opportunities.

This is a project supported by EMU Lines, with a generous grant by Captain Mr. Anil Mohindru and Rotary District 3012 DG Mrs. Amita Mohindru, initiated by IPP Mr. Prashant Aggarwal and President Mr. Punit Gupta.

Grateful for partnerships that create real impact.

From meaningful conversations on women’s rights and WASH, to building safe spaces, enabling livelihoods, and strengthening communities every step forward is a shared journey.

Here’s a glimpse of how we’re creating impact, one community at a time.

Happy reading!

Some partnerships are truly special, the kind that create real change where it matters most.

We thank Balaji Switchgears and its leadership, Saloni and Piyush, for supporting our Beauty & Wellness skilling program across three centres, reaching nearly 400 women and girls from migrant families across 10 urban slum communities.

Their presence meant a lot as students received their certifications marking the start of financial independence. Many have already begun working at local salons or offering services from home, bringing steady income and stability to their families.

Grateful to be building this impact together.

This International Women’s Month, PVR NEST and CREA came together for cinema and conversations on gender and WASH.

Across 35 urban slum communities, PVR NEST runs the city’s largest safety & protection program, impacting over 1 million migrant women and girls creating dignified, inclusive spaces for safe sanitation and livelihood opportunities.

On March 16, under this year’s IWD theme , 100+ changemakers gathered for a screening of Guthlee Laddoo, because cinema opens hearts and sparks conversations that lead to action.

Voices that shaped the dialogue included Shaheen Qamar (Plan International India), eminent caste equity activist and lawyer Manisha Mashaal; Rajalakshmi Narayanan (PVR NEST)and Kavita (WASH Champion, PVR NEST).

When we invest in women’s dignity, the whole city moves forward!
