'External dangers are experienced in the light of internal dangers and therefore intensified; on the other hand, any danger threatening from outside intensifies the perpetual inner danger- situation. This interaction exists in some measure throughout life. The very fact that the struggle has, to some extent been externalized relieves anxiety'. Maleine Klein (1948).
To deal with anxiety
1. Be aware of your triggers
2. Make a list of internal dangers
3. Talk to your defences
4. Be compassionate to your self
5. Reach out to a therapist, there is no shame in seeking help.
