This young lady of 35 had severe long standing back & leg pain due to this slippage of her L5 spine bone over S1 bone. This condition of bone Slip is called spondylolisthesis & can occur due to a variety of reasons ranging from birth defects to aging of the spine.
This slippage can cause spinal nerves to get compressed and result in leg pain or difficulty in standing or walking for long.
In early stage patients pit is managed with precautions & physiotherapy but patient with advanced stage disease need Fixation with 4 or 6 screws.
Our patient had advanced stage Slip which we decided to correct with Minimally Invasive surgery rather than the usual open Surgery Done at most other centres.
2 small access ports were used to free up the nerve roots and stabilise the spine. Bones aligned well after this keyhole surgery & patient preop pains disappeared completely by first visit.
