Aadvika Jain, a bright 4-year-old, visited HearClear with a concerning history โ she had not started speaking and was unable to express her needs verbally. Her parents, deeply worried, shared their observations with our team.
We began a thorough hearing assessment. Her OAE, IMPEDANCE, BERA, ASSR tests were done which revealed profound hearing loss in both ears.
Before taking the next step, our team also provided hearing aid trials to evaluate if conventional amplification could benefit her. Unfortunately, she showed minimal improvement with hearing aids.
To explore the possibility of advanced treatment, we referred her to renowned ENT specialist Dr. Sanjay Sachdeva. Based on his advice, MRI and CT scans were conducted โ and the results brought hope. The scans revealed well-developed cochlear turns, normal semicircular canals, a healthy internal auditory meatus, and an intact auditory nerve โ making her an ideal candidate for cochlear implant surgery.
With expert intervention, family support, and the right diagnosis at the right time, Aadvika successfully underwent cochlear implant surgery.
Today, she is beginning to respond to sounds, and her journey toward speech and connection has begun. ๐ซ
