Lamiya, a 4.5 yrs old female child, from Bangladesh, returns her home from India with a smile. Her parents are very happy that their child is now safe and can live her life like other children.

Lamiya was suffering from liver disease since 2 months of age and later she diagnosed as end stage liver disease due to glycogen storage disease (metabolic liver disease) . She was frequently admitted in Bangladesh and at 4 yrs of age advised liver transplant to save her life. She was referred to Dr. Neelam Mohan in Feb when she had severe pancreatitis along with liver disease. Dr. Neelam Mohan also helped to arrange some funds for liver transplant of Lamiya as parents had a prolonged stay in India due to COVID pandemic status. She a underwent successful living related liver transplant with father as donor on 13-july-2020 and discharged within 3 weeks. Family travelled back to Bangladesh in first week of October and is doing well.
