On the Path of Yoga, is one of the principals in the Yoga Sutras.. explaining Kriya Yoga( the yoga of action)where we can only control our action and the attitude with which we do this action…but with the understanding that the results are never in our control.. so with a feeling of surrender .. we let go of that expectation, which can create disappointment and Dukham ( constriction or pain, suffering) in us … awareness and mindfulness helps us do this … it starts on the mat !!

Discovering the medicinal properties of herbs and spices through Ayurveda..today am observing the effects of my herbal tea, made by combining ginger, fennel, coriander and cumin,boiled,steeped and strained into a flask to consume during the day.The light,warming and drying properties are pacifying for Kapha dosha… countering its cold, moist and heavy quality…learning how to balance .. understanding mySelf.

Sipping turmeric and ginger tea in the mornings with a pinch of black pepper to stimulate digestion and clear Kapha heaviness is my daily wake up drink ..also practising pranayama techniques such as Kapalabhati and Bhastrika…may clear excess mucous… pranayama should be practiced under the guidance of a yoga teacher after asana routine and with awareness…

Gratitude exercise continued..having made your gratitude for list...read and internally give words of thanks to each point.. it can be anything.. fir your beautiful smile ,fragrant tea,in your favourite mug..to your last holiday...tune into your 5 senses as you give thanks ..Bring Awareness to this moment...feel your body.. sense your breath flow through your body .. sit for a while in this state of gratitude.. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Breath is Life Energy..continuing from last post...Deep breathing expands the lungs which send a direct message to your heart.. which starts to beat slower.
Take a moment to observe and “befriend” your breath...is it shallow, irregular,fast, rough,smooth, regular,slow,deep?Do you tend to hold or force it?By exploring your breath, no judgement..you will get an insight as to where you are right now ...from this baseline we can be aware of any differences.. become closer to our breath.. we can experience more energy,joy and zest for life ... so .. it’s Time to Breathe everyone.. the baseline

Be With the Breath ..STEP 4
Your mind may wander,thinking,daydreaming,planning or remembering.. and when you are aware of this.. without judgement.. gently steer it back to your your belly, back to breathing out, then in.. connect back to the feeling of breathing.. these are steps towards mindful breathing .. as we practice we will be able to stay longer and longer with the Breath... even if the mind wanders..the AWARENESS that your mind has wandered is just as valuable as remaining aware of the Breath...after all ...only a person being Mindful will ever notice the wandering nature of the Mind...
