In the North East India, there is a wide disparity in both the diagnosis and treatment of cancers. It has been seen that the incidence of cancer in India is highest in the North Eastern region of the country. All these puts to the forefront the seemingly important and undeniable role of cancer research in the country and North East India in particular. CRF India is a professionally managed forum. It is constituted by prominent personalities in public life and in cancer research, oncologists, researchers and members from the corporate world. The objectives of CRF India are:
Research
1. Support research activities for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all types of cancer
2. Create partnership with similar organizations for sharing common platform
Education:
1. Capacity development of researchers in the field of oncology
2. Training of new generation of researchers by technology transfer methods
3. Long term training to established professionals for advancement of skill in cancer prevention & control
Advocacy:
1. Community Outreach programme for creation of awareness for prevention of cancer
2. Disseminate the recent progress in the development of cancer research at community level

Dr. Nidhi Gupta will be awarded Late Munshi Ram Jain Cancer Scholar Award by Cancer Research Foundation, India on 28th October 2022 in a function to be held at Dr. B Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati. Dr Gupta’s research was on identifying novel therapeutic targets for patients with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. Dr.Gupta carried out her research under Prof. Alpana Sharma at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

Cancer Research Foundation, India announces R K Borkotoky Best Research Paper Award 2020 edition. The *award will be presented to a researcher for scientific publication in a reputed journal for study/original research on cancer. Only single nominations per individual will be accepted. Multiple nominations would mean automatic disqualification. The published research paper along with a forwarding e-mail with below mentioned details:

NOMINATIONS ONLY BY E-MAIL

Criteria:Only original research work on cancer published in journals indexed with Science Citation Index and/or Pubmed shall be considered First author or corresponding author may apply: Weightage will be given to the corresponding author, if both the first and the corresponding authors apply for the same paper. Papers published between2017and 2019 will be accepted for the Award. A research paper “accepted for publication” only will not be considered for the Award. Researcher should be less than 45 years of age at the time of application submission.

Judging: Papers contribution to society, sample size of research, results matching with objective, review of literature, and strength of conclusion
Important Dates:
Last Date of Nominations: 31st March 2020 till 2PM
Announcement of results: Mid/end of April 2020
Award Ceremony: 6th June 2020
