In Udalguri, awareness reached a woman who once believed she had none.

For six long months, Julee lived in silence — battling pain, fear, and the thought that help was out of reach.

Until an awareness camp by Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) arrived in her village.
There, she found courage, free treatment, and the comfort of knowing she was not alone.

Today, Julee’s story inspires women across Assam to come forward, get screened, and choose hope.

Because when ACCF brings awareness, hope always follows. 🎗

Think breast cancer only runs in families? Think again.
💡 Up to 85% of breast cancer cases occur in women with no family history.

While 5–10% are caused by inherited gene mutations (like BRCA1/2), most are linked to:
🔹 Age and hormonal changes (risk rises after 40)
🔹 Lifestyle habits — limited exercise, unhealthy diet, alcohol, or smoking
🔹 Long-term hormone therapy or late pregnancies
🔹 Environmental exposures and random DNA changes over time

💗 Here’s how to reduce your risk:
✔️ Get regular screenings — mammograms can detect cancer before symptoms appear.
✔️ Stay active and maintain a healthy body weight.
✔️ Eat more plant-based foods and less processed meat and alcohol.
✔️ Perform monthly self-breast exams and report any changes to your doctor.

Remember: Breast cancer found early is highly treatable.
Schedule your screening and consultation at the nearest ACCF Centre — because knowledge and action save lives.

🩺 Did you know that men can get breast cancer too? It's a common misconception that breast cancer only affects women, but the reality is that men have breast tissue as well, and although rare, they can develop breast cancer. Here are some key facts:

- Men account for about 1% of all breast cancer cases.
- Risk factors for men include family history, genetic mutations (e.g., BRCA2), radiation exposure, and certain medical conditions.
- Breast cancer in men is often diagnosed at a later stage, making treatment more challenging.

Cancer doesn't discriminate based on gender, age, or background. Neither should awareness. Together, we can break down barriers and promote a culture of awareness, understanding, and support for everyone affected by breast cancer. Visit your nearest ACCF centre for early detection and screening.
