The Ambikagiri Memorial Trust Society was formed in the year 2001 as a Voluntary Social Welfare Organisation registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. With the objective to perpetuate the memory of Axom Keshari Ambikagiri Roy Choudhury, this Trust Society initiated many social welfare activities under the able leadership of Late Suchibrata Roy Choudhury as the Managing Trustee.
Construction was done in two phases with the first phase being completed on September 01, 2003. The second phase construction was completed in 2017.
'Amar Ghar' has been the pioneer in initiating and propagating community home stay for the elderly in the Northeastern region of India. A story that started with our first resident Smt. Kusum Ujir, we are now a family of more than sixty elderly citizens along with their caretakers.
