This is a well-known dedicated speciality centre for management of Gastro-Intestinal, Hepato-biliary-pancreatic and colorectal diseases. We are famous for basic and advanced laparoscopic procedures performed by a highly dedicated team of doctors led by Dr (Prof) Manoj Kumar Choudhury who is an eminent surgeon & also one of the pioneers of laparoscopic surgery in India & abroad. Since 1984 we have performed various conventional Gastro-Intestinal, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Procedures with excellent result. Choudhury had undergone training in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in 1997 with Sir Cuschieri at Dundee, Scotland.Since then he has been closely associated with the development of Laparoscopic Surgery in the eastern part of India. He has been regularly conducting and organizing workshops and CMEs to update the knowledge on Laparoscopic surgery in this part of the world and has trained several young surgeons in this field. Team of doctors at the centre has been performing almost all the laparoscopic procedures including complex procedures like CBD exploration , all types of hernias, solid organ surgery, intestinal & colorectal surgery including cancer surgery. Work done at the centre is protocol based to produce best results. Surgery (SILS), Endoscopic Piles & Fistula (VAAFT & LIFT) surgery are also being performed regularly at our centre to make the surgery more cosmetic and more satisfying to the patient. Now MINI-LAPAROSCOPY and BARIATRIC (OBESITY) - Surgery have been introduced at the centre particularly to benefit the people of our region. Conventional Gastro Intestinal , Hepatobillary -Pancreatic and Colo-rectal procedures are also regularly performed at our centre. World class equipment and accessories are used to make the surgery safe.
