Located in a semi-urban area, this college chiefly caters to the need of students hailing from economically weaker and underprivileged section of the society. The motivating spirit of the founders was the felt need of providing higher education to the people of this area. The burgeoning exigency commingled with a cherished dream of disseminating education was the shaping spirit behind the idea and thus this institution came into being.Consequently the bud blooming into a full blossomed flower , since then striving towards excellence goes on , albeit its own problems and impediments. A proactive and dedicated faculty with sincere assistance from other staff is making determined endeavours to prevail over the infrastructure and other limitations . But the changing time and metamorphosing global scenario we find that the number of students aspiring to be graduates in Commerce stream was rapidly dwindling. So in this perspective it was a felt need that we should introduce certain subjects in sync with the changing time and tries to cope with this predicament. So we have introduced a number of new subjects keeping in mind our professed aim to provide quality education to the underprivileged students of this area who can ill afford to study those at the city colleges with much higher expenses. This introduction of new subjects prompted us to rechristen our college to Sree Chaitanya Mahavidyalaya from its former avatar of Sree Chaitanya College of Commerce. Goals and Objectives
