Six Buffaloes Killed in Fresh Train Collision on Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section

A fresh incident of a train colliding with buffaloes has been reported on the Lumding–Badarpur hill section, raising renewed safety concerns. According to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Haflong, the accident occurred around 10:00 AM on Sunday near the 112 km mark between Jatinga Lampur and New Harangajao.

An election special train traveling from Guwahati to Badarpur struck a herd of buffaloes that had strayed onto the tracks, killing six animals on the spot. No passengers or railway staff were injured in the incident.

The recurrence of such accidents, following a similar case earlier this month, has sparked concerns among local residents over inadequate fencing and monitoring along the hill section.
