A 93 year old female was presented to ICU , unconscious, intermittent seizures, High blood pressure..on CT brain acute intracranial hemorrhage was observed.. since hailakandi civil hospital doesn't have neurosurgeon,I had explained the seriousness and asked the attendee to take the patient to higher centre..due to some unavoidable circumstances, They could not go...and asked me to try do whatever i can here in hailakandi Civil... accordingly I took the case.. first few days were tough as I had to keep the age in mind while prescribing medicine...but fortunately..she regained consciousness on the 5th day... physiotherapy has started... today is her 8th day in ICU..She will be discharged by 10th day...
This is just one of more than 400 cases that we have treated at hkd civil ICU..i can proudly say, Hailakandi Civil ICU can give you the care you deserve..

A Case Of Diabetic Ketoacidosis
Took 24 hours of intense monitoring and treatment to finally stabilize her and was later discharged on day 3 with a happy face..

A case from the archives, A probable case of Cryptogenic Acute Liver failure with very high transaminases treated at S.K Roy Civil ICU...All hep viral markers were negative,there was no history of injestion of any hepatotoxic drug..
The attenders kept their hope alive and showed faith in me and my staffs while we treat..

42 year old male with type1 DM ,had recurrent episodes of early morning hypoglycemia, changes in insulin dosing had shown erratic discrepancies..no thyroid abnormalities noted.On follow up
S.Electrolytes were pointing towards adrenal insufficiency..made a call to measure basal cortisol levels which was reduced...I referred the case to an endocrinologist and then the patient was lost to follow up.
Glucocorticoid insufficiency may increase insulin sensitivity that may lead to hypoglycemia..
