The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Hajipur organized a walkathon program on September 22, 2023, to raise awareness about pharmacovigilance among the public.
The walkathon was flagged off by Dr. Sameer Dhingra, Associate Professor, Dr. Abhisekh Sahu, assistant professor, Dr. Nitesh Kumar assistant professor, Dr. Neh Nupur, research associate and attended by students, and p***c from the region. The participants walked through the campus and distributing pamphlets to raise awareness about the importance of pharmacovigilance.
Dr. Dhingra counselled the participants to be vigilant and report any adverse drug reactions that they experience or witness. He said that by reporting ADRs, we can help to identify potential safety concerns and make medicines safer for everyone.
The walkathon was a successful event that helped to raise awareness about pharmacovigilance among the public and healthcare professionals. It also sent a strong message about the importance of pharmacovigilance in ensuring the safety of medicines.

National Pharmacovigilance Week: NIPER Hajipur Raises Awareness on Medication Safety
NIPER Hajipur actively participated in the 3rd National Pharmacovigilance Week, organizing several events to raise awareness about pharmacovigilance and medication safety among the community.
On Day 3, a community sensitization program on drug safety was held at the Gram Panchayat in Mohabbathpur. Dr. Krishna Murti, Assistant Professor, NIPER Hajipur, addressed the community, emphasizing the importance of reporting medication-related adverse drug reactions (ADRs).
In the afternoon, an awareness program on medication safety took place at the CIPET Institute in Hajipur. Dr. Sameer Dhingra, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, AMC Coordinator at NIPER Hajipur, delivered a special address that medication safety is a shared responsibility for all members of society, not just healthcare professionals. He urged the audience to actively participate in ADR reporting, emphasizing that it is a powerful tool for safeguarding public health.

National Pharmacovigilance Week: NIPER Hajipur Organizes Event at RMRIMS Patna to Raise Awareness

On Day 4 of the 3rd National Pharmacovigilance Week, NIPER Hajipur organized an event at RMRIMS Patna to raise awareness about pharmacovigilance and medication safety among healthcare professionals and the public.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Krishna Pandey, Director of RMRIMS Patna. In his address, Dr. Pandey emphasized the importance of pharmacovigilance in ensuring the safety of medications.
Dr. Sameer Dhingra, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice at NIPER Hajipur, spoke about the role of healthcare professionals in pharmacovigilance. He stressed the need for healthcare professionals to be aware of their responsibility to report ADRs, and to educate their patients about the importance of ADR reporting.Dr. Krishna Murti, Assistant Professor at NIPER Hajipur, delivered a talk on the basics of pharmacovigilance and the importance of ADR reporting.
