As evident in the picture teeth are covered by a thick layer.This hard layer, calculus, will create a protective shield for bacteria on the teeth. The bacteria in the mouth releases acids which will break down your tooth enamel and lead to cavities and tooth decay. If calculus is not removed it will irritate your gums and over time causes gum disease (gingivitis).
Remember to keep your teeth clean and make sure to visit your dentist regularly to keep them clean and healthy.

Here is a case in which patients LOWER teeth had spaces and were peridontally compromised .Long back she got her treatment from some inexperienced person who gave her acrylic bridge causing damage to the gums and surrounding tissues..So acrylic bridge was removed and gums were allowed to heal .Then very mobile teeth were extracted and rest were treated with root canal treatment..Then crowns were given over them..The mobility reduced and gums were restored back to health..The patient was really happy to see her new smile and saw herself as much younger n beautiful.
