Ujala Cygnus in partnership with Amandeep Br Medicity has achieved a significant medical milestone with the successful treatment of a patient with colonic obstruction using Colonic Self-Expanding Metal Stent (SEMS) placement at the hepatic flexure. This rare and complex procedure, possibly the first of its kind in Kashmir and amongst all branches of Ujala Amandeep chain, was performed by a team of expert gastroenterologists and medical professionals led by Dr. Wahid Akbar, Consultant Gastroenterologist, at Amandeep Br Medicity.
The patient was discharged after a successful procedure that avoided the need for two possible surgeries. The team, comprising Dr. Sheikh Zahoor Consultant Surgical Oncology & Dr. Syed Dawood Consultant Surgical Oncology , Dr. Danish Consultant Radiology, and the anesthesia and supporting staff, worked together to achieve this remarkable outcome.
