Alopecia areata is a condition where hair falls out in small, round patches, usually on the scalp but sometimes on the beard, eyebrows, or other body areas.
It’s an autoimmune disorder, meaning the immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, causing sudden hair loss.
👀 How it looks
Smooth, round bald patches
Skin looks normal (no scaling or redness)
“Exclamation mark” hairs (short, broken hairs at edges)

1)Sudden patchy hair loss (round or oval bald spots)
2) Smooth, shiny skin in the bald area
Hair may fall out within a few days
🔍 Characteristic signs
“Exclamation mark hairs”

Regrowing hair may appear white or thin initially
